Shocking news: Adam Sandler made Blended, his latest comedy costarring Drew Barrymore, not for the art of it, and not for the money — but to go on vacation. Really.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, Sandler confessed that since starring in 2004's 50 First Dates, he's made a point of doing movies that will take him to faraway places. "[_50 First Dates_] was written in another place, and then I said, 'Imagine if we did it in Hawaii, how great that movie would be.' And they were like, 'yes, that's a very artistic idea,'" Sandler admitted. "I've been doing it ever since."
Blended is set in Africa — where in Africa, we're not sure, because Sandler just keeps saying "Africa" as though it isn't a giant continent with many countries. (Further investigating reveals that filming took place in South Africa.) Other hot vacation spots Sandler's visited, thanks to his films, include Hawaii for both 50 First Dates and Just Go With It, Mexico for You Don't Mess with the Zohan, and a cruise ship for Jack and Jill.
