Watch Eliminated 'RuPaul's Drag Race' All Stars Plead for a Second Chance — Exclusive (original) (raw)
Last Thursday, RuPaul’s Drag Race treated its audience to a shocking twist bigger than Ginger Minj’s wig.
Following what appeared to be Alyssa Edwards’ final sashay away after Alaska ousted her from the competition, Phi Phi O’Hara spilled the tea on how she really feels about her departing sister (reminder: it wasn’t pretty) as the ladies returned to the Work Room. While O’Hara spoke, however, it was revealed that four of this season’s previously-eliminated queens were actually behind the show’s infamous two-way mirrors the whole time, listening in on the remaining contestants’ shady gossip.
In true Drag Race fashion, the episode ended on a cliffhanger, though it seems likely that, between Edwards, Minj, Coco Montrese, and Tatianna, one queen will return to the competition to avenge their legacy within the Drag Race family.
The question remains: who’s coming back? At this point, it could be anyone, and EW has three exclusive videos from the All Stars eliminees, in which they make their case for why they should be given another chance to strut their stuff along the Drag Race main stage once again.
Scroll down to hear the queens’ testimonies in the videos, below.
Alyssa Edwards
Edwards finished in sixth place on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013, but she’s aiming for the top spot this time around. In her video, Edwards enlists the help of her adorable dance students, who sing her praises throughout the clip. One youngster in particular adorably mimics Edwards’ signature tongue pop, while another says she admires her teacher because Edwards is “always loyal” to what she does, and “dedicates her life” to it.
Tatianna
While Tatianna feels like she has the physical goods to justify a win (“I’m gorgeous, just a little bit,” she says), she also has a more practical (and downright hilarious) reason as to why she should win the show’s $100,000 cash prize: “I’m trying to pay off this Honda Civic that I’m sitting in right now, so, thank you!” she admits.
Ginger Minj
Minj is doing it for her family! The season 6 runner-up says she should return to the competition for her grandma’s sake. “She hasn’t smiled even once since I was eliminated and we’re all getting kind of worried,” Minj says. She continues: “I have a brand new album coming out, so I kind of need the publicity… anyway, whatever your reasoning may be, vote Minj 2016!”
Coco Montrese
Though her drag is typically larger than life, Coco’s testimonial is short and sweet. Why does she think she deserves another shot at claiming the All Stars crown? “I think it’s pretty clear,” she says. “Once an All Star, always an All Star. Besides, I haven’t lip-synced yet, and I am the lip-sync diva.”
