Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard are turning up the heat in a new theatrical trailer for their upcoming war drama Allied.

The new clip offers an extended look at the upcoming WWII-era thriller, which follows a steamy relationship that blossoms between a Canadian intelligence officer, Max (Pitt), and a French Resistance fighter, Marianne (Cotillard), while on a deadly mission in North Africa.

The pair eventually reunites in London, where they marry and have a child. As pressure from the ongoing war mounts, military superiors suspect Marianne is actually an undercover Nazi spy, instructing Max to kill her despite their personal entanglement. At first, Max refuses to believe Marianne is anything but a dedicated spouse, though paranoia ultimately sets in as he begins to wonder if he’s actually fallen victim to the enemy’s complicated web of deception.

Academy Award-winner Robert Zemeckis (Cast Away, Forrest Gump) directs the film from a script written by Oscar-nominated scribe Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things). In addition to Cotillard and Pitt, the film also stars Lizzy Caplan, Jared Harris, and Matthew Goode.

The historical drama features elaborate costumes by eight-time Zemeckis collaborator Joanna Johnston. The director previously told EW the looks Johnston crafted “evoke the romantic feel of the era,” while she insisted on retaining modern flair, noting she will “always take into consideration how it will be for the contemporary audience. If anything is too period, people turn away.”

Allied opens nationwide on Nov. 23. Watch the film’s new trailer above.
