Bruno Mars dominates Grammy Awards with most wins (original) (raw)

Carrie Fisher and Childish Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover, were among the first-time winners

The music industry celebrated its biggest night once again Sunday, and this year major artists including Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, Bruno Mars, and Lorde vied for industry supremacy.

Big winners included Bruno Mars, who dominated with seven awards, including the honors for Album, Song, and Record of the Year; Kendrick Lamar, who received five honors, including for Best Rap Album; and Chris Stapleton, who won in three categories, including Best Country Album. JAY-Z, who led the nominees with eight nods, received no awards.

In a posthumous win, Carrie Fisher earned her first Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for her audio recording of The Princess Diarist. Childish Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover, also became a first-time Grammy winner, earning Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Redbone.”

The 2018 iteration of the awards show featured performances from Rihanna, Kesha, SZA, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, and many, many more. See a full list of nominees, with winners’ names bolded, below — and relive the night’s biggest moments.
