'Grey's Anatomy' promo hints at shooting victim (exclusive) (original) (raw)

Is Lucas okay?

Nobody's ever really safe on Grey's Anatomy — just ask Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) who has survived holding a bomb in her hands, drowning, a plane crash, a hospital shooting, and so, so much more.

But when Grey's left off with its season 21 fall finale, it wasn't Meredith who was in trouble this time. It was Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Lucas (Niko Terho). The two of them had been sent to a nearby gas station during a heat wave to get ice for the hospital, only to come face to face with a gunman who was robbing the store. That's when a pregnant Jo discovered she was bleeding.

And, in the final moments of the episode, Lucas tried to take matters into his own hands and wrestle the gun out of the robber's hands. That's when the gun went off.

So, was anyone hit? That's the question fans are asking as Grey's prepares to return. Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive new promo that claims "Grey's Anatomy saves their own." In the promo, we see Jo returning to the hospital on a stretcher and being sent to O.B. She seems alert and okay for the most part.

But we don't see Lucas. All we know is that someone is sent to surgery with no exit wound and "he's about to code." It could be Lucas, it could be the shooter, or it could be someone else entirely. Grey's clearly wants to keep the mystery alive for its return on Thursday, March 6.
