'Ghosbusters': Dan Aykroyd Helps Young Fan Live His Dream (original) (raw)
Anyone who’s seen Ghostbusters has likely dreamed of becoming a ghoul-getter themselves.
Well, thanks to the For the Win Project and Sony Pictures, 8-year-old Braeden Rios actually got to live that dream. The young fan, who suffers from bronchomalacia, and his family were flown to Los Angeles by the organization so he could not only pretend to be one of his heroes for the day (something the organization specializes in) but also star in his very own Ghostbusters trailer.
And as you can see in the video (above), one of the original Ghostbusters, Ray Stanz (Dan Aykroyd himself), called Braeden to recruit him to the cause. Then, armed with some props from the original movie, the young hero went up against the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man as he terrorized downtown Los Angeles.
But that wasn’t the only treat awaiting the Rios family. Not only did Braeden get his own poster (created by For the Win Project co-founders Jaimie Trueblood and Jesse Wilson) to remember the occasion by, but he also received video messages from the directors of both the 1984 and 2016 Ghostbusters films, Ivan Reitman and Paul Feig.
