Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Masked Singer season 2 episode 9.

The Butterfly’s wings were clipped on _The Masked Singer_tonight after one of the toughest eliminations yet on the singing competition.

All four contestants came to fight, with Butterfly, Fox, Thingamajig, and Tree all bringing their best to the stage. Judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ken “I know exactly who this is” Jeong were joined for a second time this season by guest panelist Joel McHale. As always, Nick Cannon served as emcee of the night.

Butterfly absolutely rocked her rendition of Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry,” but Fox’s cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” was too soulful to beat according to the judges and audience members’ votes.

Then, Thingamajig faced off against Tree. He crooned “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Bublé, and although he was singing to the crowd, it was basically a love-fest between him and super-fan Scherzinger (or “Scherzingermajig,” as Cannon dubbed her).

Tree branched out even further to kill her performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler, defeating Thingamajig and sending the masked giant to the smackdown with Butterfly.

The winged songstress gave it 110 percent with her performance of Imagine Dragon’s “Believer.” We thought she had it in the bag until Thingamajig’s confident delivery of Usher’s “Caught Up” had everyone torn — including the judges. “It’s almost painful,” McCarthy said about picking a smackdown winner.

In the end, Butterfly was eliminated and unmasked to reveal singer, actress, and former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams.

Three of the judges this week, along with many Twitter fans and EW’s own earlier predictions post, had already guessed it was her. Some of Williams’ clues were pretty revealing — the Christian imagery, London references, forensics kit — and of course her spectacular voice sealed the deal. Read our exit interview with the unmasked Williams.

After this week, only six contestants remain in the competition, and each one of them is a singing assassin. With the Flower and Ladybug now gone, who do you think will take home the crown in the weeks to come? Will it be Fox, Thingamajig, Tree, Flamingo, Rottweiler, or Leopard?
