From first-timers like Jean Smart to old faves like John Mulaney and Michael Keaton, here's who's hosting "SNL" each week.

Saturday Night Live is back for season 50!

The legendary NBC sketch show returns for the monumental new season on Sept. 28, with an already stacked roster of hosts and musical guests, including SNL first-timers like Jean Smart and Chappell Roan, as well as returning faves like John Mulaney and Ariana Grande.

The show will look a little different this season following the departures of cast members Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney, and Chloe Troast, and the addition of new featured players Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline. Meanwhile, Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker were all promoted to the main cast for season 50.

Other cast members expected to return include Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, James Austin Johnson, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, and "Weekend Update" co-anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost.

Coinciding with the 50th season, Jason Reitman's Saturday Night film about the moments leading up to SNL's season 1 premiere, is playing in Los Angeles, New York City, and Toronto, followed by a limited release on Oct. 4, and its wide release on Oct. 11.

Sept. 28, 2024: Host Jean Smart with musical guest Jelly Roll

Emmy-winning Hacks star Jean Smart makes her SNL hosting debut on the season 50 premiere alongside Grammy nominee Jelly Roll, performing as musical guest for the first time.

Oct. 5, 2024: Host Nate Bargatze with musical guest Coldplay

Less than a year after getting rave reviews for his hosting debut last season, stand-up comic Nate Bargatze returns to SNL on Oct. 5, alongside frequent musical guest Coldplay.

Oct. 12, 2024: Host Ariana Grande with musical guest Stevie Nicks

Ariana Grande hosts for the second time on Oct. 12 ahead of her upcoming star-turn in Wicked, but she won't be doing double duty as musical guest as she has in the past. Instead, Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks will do musical honors for the second time since last appearing on the show in 1983.

Oct. 19, 2024: Host Michael Keaton with musical guest Billie Eilish

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star Michael Keaton returns to host SNL for the fourth time on Oct. 19, after last hosting in 2015. Joining him is Oscar winner Billie Eilish, also taking the 8H stage for the fourth time as musical guest.

Nov. 2, 2024: Host John Mulaney with musical guest Chappell Roan

Former SNL writer and fan-favorite host John Mulaney fronts the show for a sixth time on Nov. 2, his return after picking up his Five-Timers Club jacket in 2022. Chappell Roan makes her highly-anticipated musical debut on the same episode.
