Here are all Marvel's planned Disney+ shows (original) (raw)
The next adventure
Kathryn Hahn on 'WandaVision'; Anthony Mackie on 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier'; Tatiana Maslany on 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law'. Suzanne Tenner/Marvel; Chuck Zlotnick/Marvel; Courtesy of Marvel
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow. Just as The Mandalorian expanded the Star Wars galaxy, Marvel has done the same with a bunch of TV shows, debuting on Disney+. Some focus on familiar faces from the films, while others introduce new heroes. Here, we break down every MCU show that has dropped on the streamer since 2021, and a preview of what's still to come.
WandaVision (2021)
Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as Vision in 'WandaVision'. Disney+
First up was the weird and wonderful WandaVision, centering on Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany's Vision. Inspired by classic TV sitcoms throughout the decades, this trippy series takes a deep dive into Wanda and Vision's love story and ultimately serves as a poignant meditation on grief. Kathryn Hahn also stole the show as the classic "nosy neighbor" type, Agnes, with Teyonah Parris making her debut as new hero Monica Rambeau. The nine-episode limited series earned 23 Emmy nominations and three wins.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier on 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'. Chuck Zlotnick/Marvel Studios
He's the captain now: Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) inherited Captain America's shield in Endgame, and this six-episode series follows Sam and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) as they face off against returning Civil War villain Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl). Also returning is Emily VanCamp's former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter, with Wyatt Russell joining the cast as the government supersoldier John Walker and Julia Louis-Dreyfus making her MCU debut as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
What If…? (2021–present)
Captain Carter on 'What If...?'. Marvel Studios
Narrated by Jeffrey Wright as the omniscient Watcher, this animated anthology imagines alternate realities in the Marvel universe — like what if Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) took the Captain America super serum instead? Dozens of familiar Marvel heroes lend their voices to the series, including Josh Brolin, Karen Gillan, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael B. Jordan, Natalie Portman, Paul Rudd, and Mark Ruffalo. Chadwick Boseman won a posthumous Emmy for his final Marvel appearance here as T'Challa.
Hawkeye (2021)
Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop on 'Hawkeye'. Chuck Zlotnick/Marvel Studios
His fellow Avengers have all had their solo movies, and, this time, Clint Barton got his turn in the spotlight, in a series following Jeremy Renner's eagle-eyed archer as he trains his young protégée Kate Bishop, played by Dickinson'sHailee Steinfeld. Florence Pugh reprised her role of Yelena Belova from Black Widow on Hawkeye, further connecting the films of the MCU with the television series.
Moon Knight (2022)
Oscar Isaac as Mr. Knight on 'Moon Knight'. courtesy of Marvel Studios
Star Warsalum Oscar Isaac plays the classic cloaked hero in this six-episode series. Moon Knight is an erratic vigilante named Marc Spector, who might get his powers from an ancient Egyptian moon god — or perhaps is just dealing with mental health issues. Isaac is joined onscreen by himself, in addition to Ethan Hawke as the calm but deadly Arthur Harrow, and Ramy actress May Calamawy as brilliant Egyptian archaeologist Layla El-Faouly.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel on 'Ms. Marvel'. courtesy of Marvel Studios
Marvel's first Muslim American superhero got her own show, starring newcomer Iman Vellani as the idealistic and geeky Kamala Khan. She's a New Jersey high schooler who can stretch and "embiggen" her body to fight crime, and she dutifully defends her hometown (when she's not writing fanfic in her spare time).
I Am Groot (2022–present)
Groot in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'. Marvel Studios
Baby Groot returns! The tiny arboreal hero stars in a series of shorts on Disney+, joined by "several new and unusual characters."
Secret Invasion (2023)
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury on 'Secret Invasion'. courtesy of Marvel Studios
Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson's eyepatch-sporting superspy, has been a key part of the MCU ever since he first popped up in the post-credits scene of the first Iron Man. This time, he stars in his own show — the first of Phase Five — joined by Ben Mendelsohn as the shape-shifting Skrull Talos, Emilia Clarke as Talos' daughter G'iah, Kingsley Ben-Adir as rebel Skrulls leader Gravik, and Olivia Colman as MI6 Agent Sonya Falsworth.
Echo (expected 2024)
Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez on 'Echo'. Chuck Zlotnick/Marvel Studios
This Hawkeye spinoff for the character of Maya Lopez/Echo (Alaqua Cox) — the deaf MCU badass who goes blow-to-bow with Clint and Kate (and who has a personal connection to Wilson Fisk, a familiar baddie from Marvel's Daredevil) is soon to come. In Echo, Maya reckons with her past as she returns to her Native American roots.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (expected 2024)
Kathryn Hahn as Agatha in 'WandaVision'. Suzanne Tenner/Marvel Studios
First she gets a jingle, then she gets a show! During Disney+ Day in November 2021, it was announced Kathryn Hahn's Agnes (really, Agatha all along...) would be getting her own spinoff series, Agatha: House of Harkness — which was later retitled Agatha: Coven of Chaos and then Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Joe Locke, and Debra Jo Rupp are set to costar.
Ironheart (release date TBD)
Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. Eli Adé/Marvel Studios
Tony Stark's legacy will live on with the upcoming Ironheart show. Judas and the Black Messiah's Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams, a brilliant teenage inventor who builds her own take on the classic Iron Man suit. The character made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022.
Daredevil: Born Again (release date TBD)
Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil on 'Marvel's Daredevil'. Patrick Harbron/Netflix
Charlie Cox has already bridged the gap between the Netflix Marvel series and the MCU, briefly reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and now he's getting another series. Daredevil: Born Again will officially be part of MCU's Phase 5, consisting of an 18-episode first season with further role reprisals from Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, both of whom appeared alongside Cox on Netflix's Marvel's Daredevil.
