Ted Danson helped bandage Woody Harrelson after motorcycle accident (original) (raw)

In addition to former costar and podcast cohost, Ted Danson also moonlights as Woody Harrelson's doctor.

Appearing on Monday's episode of the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast alongside his Cheers costar, Harrelson revealed that he was involved in a motorcycle accident prior to arriving for the interview — and Danson stepped in to help bandage him up.

"I was passing this Tesla on the left that I thought was moving a little slow but I didn't realize he was moving slow because he's taking a left," Harrelson explained of his tardiness. A motorcycle is the actor's preferred mode of transportation and yes, "today it proved to not be very fast," he said.

"We lost some time while people were figuring out, 'Are you alive?'" host Conan O'Brien quipped.

Harrelson said, "There was some pain involved, but I never thought I'd be killed or anything."

"Your hand is wrapped up like somebody in a cartoon," O'Brien observed.

"That's 'cause I wrapped it," Danson shared. "I wrapped it and I thought it looked funnier that way."

"We're in the bathroom and I was like, 'You played a doctor, right?'" Harrelson recalled, referencing Danson's role on the CBS sitcom Becker. "He says, 'Yeah, I also played a lawyer, so we could sue the guy.'"

A flabbergasted O'Brien was stunned that in needing medical attention, "Ted Danson is the one that helps clean the wound and wrap you? Why haven't we called a real doctor!"

"I'd take Ted Danson over a real doctor," co-host Sona Movsesian quipped.

Later, Harrelson joked, "It was weird when he asked me to disrobe."

Harrelson and Danson were on hand to promote their new Cheers podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name, which sees the longtime pals reconnect three decades after the end of the acclaimed sitcom as they sit down with special guests to dig beyond the career highlights. From O'Brien's Team Coco and SiriusXM, the podcast welcomed Will Arnett in its inaugural episode, with more to come with the likes of Jane Fonda, Martin Short, Laura Dern, Eric Andre, and Mary Steenburgen.
