With fall the colors come out, and make for breathtaking leaf-peeping opportunities. Hunters also will find a wide variety of opportunities in Maine, with seasons for grouse, turkey, deer, bear, and Moose.
It snows here in the Winter, providing excellent opportunities for skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Regardless of your passion, there are vacation rental opportunities year-round in Maine.
Tastes Of Maine
Ask people what comes to mind when they think of Maine, and lobster is likely one of the top responses. And for good reason – Maine lobster is known world-wide as a top seafood delicacy. Many travelers return to coastal Maine year after year to sample our delicious lobster and other seafood.
But lobster is not the only defining taste of Maine – there are other iconic foods that are unmatched. Wild Maine blueberries are a favorite fruit of visitors and local folks alike, making for delicious pies and other treats. Maine also is the 2nd largest maple syrup producer in America, thanks to our abundance of sugar maple trees and favorable spring climate. And Aroostook county is potato country, offering you Maine options for baked, mashed, or french fries.
No camping trip in Maine is complete without favorites like red hot dogs, bean hole baked beans, fresh fiddle heads, a cold can of Moxie, and a whoopie pie for desert. Throw in some maple candy and saltwater taffy for snacks and you have a true Maine culinary experience.
