Okay, so the hair forming a box around the mouth is not a real vandyke, but for convenience, I will refer to it as such. It's the modern "vandyke". In the past, the mustache was a long handlebar disconnected from the long goatee. This facial adornment is famously associated with General Custer and most men of the late 19th century. facial hair removal; reversible? permanent?	[14 Oct 2005\|11:10am]
Has anyone ever done that? I did use some sort of creme on my face a couple of years ago and I wonder if it killed my beard growing hopes.Would it just soften and lighten the grow back?I am now into day 14 or so of the beard and it looks like long stubble and a lot of it is blonde.

Maybe this belongs in facial hair as well.Why is the Van Dyke, often mistakenly called "goatee", back in fashion? What's up with it?I see it everywhere now and I cannot figure out why.Anyone recommend an LJ com for hair? I have some trend questions there as well.Jon(4 days long and growing)

[ mood \| bored out of my mind ] well, this community is seeing about as much action as rosie odonnell. so the beard i had like four or five posts down lasted me for about a year. it was a good run, but i kept it for too long. i returned to the sideburns, except theyre a bit bigger than when i last had them.( here they are Collapse )

Dear facial_hair,this is a great community and what I've always been looking for.About my facial hair, I never have a same facial hair for more than 3 weeks, I always try to come up with a new and kool looking facial hair. My family hates my beard and they say I look like one of Al-quaede members with facial hair and they are worried that one of these days somebody shoots me in gas station thinking that I'm an Al-quade member.I live in a big family so evryday I have to take crap from 8 people for my facial hair but on other side, my friends like my beard and one time that I shaved completely,they all asked me to grow it back again.So my friends support and my love in facial hair keeps this facial hair on my face.Anyways,I have pictures of my facial hair in diffrent styles, I'm gonna try and post a new entry with a new picture every now and then.I'm gonna start with my not too crazy beard today and then post crazy and grazier pictures in my later updates.This is not my coolest facial hair but it is my first beard that I trimed like crazy. I admit,I looked scary with this trimed beard and short hair.

So I'm a teenager and I'm trying to get my beard going. I want something good-looking before school starts again (middle of August) and I need some tips. There's a lot of hair on my face, but it's light-colored, thin, and basically invisible. But the only real hair is under my jaw as shown in the pictures below. I also have a pretty thin moustache, but I don't really enjoy it. What should I shave, what should I trim, and what should I keep? I just got word in an email today from a friend out in California that he cut off all his hair!Then he shaved off his goatee!AUHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I'm dying here. DYING!!*All longhaired men with goatees are welcome to assist this poor dying girl in her last moments. Heh. ;)(xposted)

well as I haven't said anything in awhile, I think I mentioned about october that I'd cut my beard, off that is, that was strange, and it's been growing well since then. So here is the current version of my facial features: Here a cross post from beards
