Fandom Bound (original) (raw)

Hi y'all! How's it going?
Any ideas where the journals are? Just want to kinda keep some sort of dibs on 'em.
I hope everyone's doing okay. I never did hear back from darklock, so...yah no idea what's happened to her. *sighs* Anyway, I hope y'all have been enjoying the new year thus far.

lttledvl, the journal has arrived.
I'll need to check my picture against the page size - the page in my art journal is a bit larger, so I may have to resize a bit, I don't want to have to fold the picture.
Means I'm going to have to knuckle down and get the pic done now.

I just wanted to pop in and see how folks are doing. Still no luck reaching darklock, but I'm sure she'll be back eventually. Right now, the biggest thing affected by her disapperance is the sister comm fandombound where she's been hosting pics of the journals.
I just friended it as an experiment and it has apparently been set so that only the maintainer can add posts (and that ain't me). So...I suggest we continue on taking pics/scans of the journals as they continue along. And we just 'hold them for now'. If you have harddrive space issues, I'm up for storing them in my photobucket account. Or...we could create a temp photobucket for such purposes. What do y'all think?
Give me a hollar if you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc. Hope all is going well for everyone.

I'm admitting defeat. I had several people on my flist who expressed an interest in taking on the gen journal, but they all fell through. Who's next in the comm?

Anyone interested in helping me run Fandom Bound? Not that it's a huge job. (I'm having medical issues with Pop, whom I'm take care of, and I've the feeling I'm going to be a might squirrelier... squirrellier... flippinfreakedout than usual. *breathes*) She's here. She's not. She's here. She's not. I wish the boat would stop rocking!

*breathes* I did it! We have web space! Almost.
I did go with Web Hosting Buzz. It offered the most (An insane amount of 'most'. 750 gigs of 'most'.) for the least amount of funds. I paid up front for two years with a dedicated IP. I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of it now. I've hesitated adding the most current images to our online journals, as I hope to transfer them to the website. This may take a couple of weeks as they have a really good 'dashboard' but nothing ever goes smoothly for me as far as technology.
I appreciate all of you hanging in there and working with me to get things going!
I am waiting for the additional domains names to go through. Our address will be http://fandombound.org
I also have
everymanjack.org and bumi.org. Bumi means Earth. I will be using Bumi for anyone who might want some webspace. EveryManJack is for my crapola and for anyone that might want to use that name instead of 'Bumi' in their webspace address. I have two more domain names 'spaces' available and will use those if things grow. Um... I'm having fun? In an ohmygodmyheadisgoingtoexplode way.
*breathes* If you get the urge to pimp Fandom Bound, please give into it. There are so many more fans out there that I know would like to participate if they knew it existed. After I get the website going, that is something I'll try working on.
Um.... SWEET!!! *skips to my lou*

I'm going to see if anyone on my flist can take it on. If not, I will be in touch within the week to get the name of the next community member.

The Gen journal arrived in the mail today! I'm so excited. Tomorrow I'm off from work so I'll get to insert my contribution.
Just to confirm: I first solicit folks from my flist to see who wants to play, and if no one is up for it then I find someone through the comm. Correct?

I had a blast writing my story for the Gen journal. Took me damn near forever to hand-write it out, but I think that hand-writing the story gives it a "journalish" feel.
I come bearing pictures! I took a picture the day I got the journal and immediately after uploading said photo to my computer, lost my camera. But crysothemis saved the day and photographed it for me. Yay! Thanks again, crysothemis!
( The journal and its boxCollapse )
Not too shabby, eh?
