Design Your Own Flash Ring - 2 Weeks Left! Only two weeks left in the Design and Win Your Own Flash Ring Contest at Speed Force! Submit your design for a Flash ring, and you can win a copy of your ring...and a chance to see it produced as a limited edition by Arroba Silver.

These are sterling silver rings, not plastic like the ones DC is shipping with The Flash #1 this week. Submissions are due Monday, April 26, so you've still got time.

Read the Full details and rules at Speed Force!

UPDATE: Here's a spotlight on some of the designs sent in so far.

Icons I'm in desperate need of some new Wally icons for this LJ, can be from JL:TAS or newer comics, anyone knows where I can find them? I'll even take a good source for scans at this point.

Also, I'm not incredibly happy with his PB, any suggestions? Not Ryan Reynolds since he's my Ollie... ;)

Thanks!

Flash & Long Beach Comic-Con

I went to the first Long Beach Comic Con this weekend. I hadn't expected any Flash news, but Geoff Johns made an announcement at the DC Nation panel:

The new Flash series will be a 30-page book with two stories: The lead story is Barry Allen by Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul. The second feature: Wally West by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins!

Some other bits of Flash info:

I had a great time at the con. I looked at lots of art, caught some panels, got stuff signed by both Mark Waid and Geoff Johns, bought some books and prints, saw people in costumes, and did some sightseeing.

Here's what I've put online:

If they bring this con back for a second year, I definitely plan on going again!

Flash Costume Gallery from Comic-Con I've put together a gallery of Flash-related costume photos from Comic-Con International. It's a mix of photos I took myself and photos I found on Flickr, and includes 3 Jay Garricks (including myself!), a Black Flash, 2 women in variations on the costume, a Kid Flash, a Captain Cold, and (just for fun) 2 Cheetaras. I also liveblogged each day and several panels at speedforce_org.

Flash Costume Sightings at Comic-Con - Enjoy!

I also saw a couple of guys in off-the-rack Flash costumes like you'd find at a Halloween store.

Anyone else who was at the con: did you see any other Flashes that I missed?

Flash: Rebirth #1 outsells everyone but Batman April sales data is up, and Flash: Rebirth #1 sold an estimated 102,429 copies, placing it on the #2 spot in sales rankings, right behind the first half of "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?"

Yes, that's right: Flash sold better than Wolverine last month!

It's the highest the book has sold since the first issue of Flash: The Fastest Man Alive launched in 2006 with Bart as the lead. Flash: TFMA #1 sold 120,000 copies before reorders

More: Flash: Rebirth is #2 Comic for April.

Vote! Flash vs. Batman in CSBG Tourney

He's outraced Death...blotted out Rorschach...clobbered the Thing...and raced past Superman himself! The Flash (Wally West) has made it to the Final Four in Comics Should Be Good's DC/Marvel Character Tourney.

With just two rounds to go, Flash is up against Batman. The winner will go on to the final round, against either Spider-Man or Captain America.

Dark Knight or Scarlet Speedster? Your vote will decide!

So dash over to the poll and vote!

Vote! Flash vs. Superman in CSBG Tourney Flash has made it to Round 4 of Comics Should Be Good's Marvel/DC Character Tourney, and the Elite Eight! But he'll need your help to make it to the Final Four!

The tournament started with both Barry Allen and Wally West. Barry lost to the Thing in Round 1, but Wally defeated first Death and then Rorschach -- then went on to defeat the Thing in a surrogate rematch.

Now the Flash is up against the Man of Steel himself: Superman!

Head over to the poll and vote for the Scarlet Speedster!

Flash at Comic-Con I went to San Diego for the full length of the convention, and blogged the whole thing on speedforce_org. I made it to several DC panels, including the DC Nation panel where they announced Flash: Rebirth. (They had free wifi in the convention center this year, and I ended up liveblogging the panel.)

I also got a couple of convention sketches: Impulse by Todd Nauck (Young Justice) and Iris West II by Freddie Williams II:

Did anyone else here make it to the con?

Announcing SpeedForce.org! I've just launched SpeedForce.org, a companion blog to the website, Flash: Those Who Ride the Lightning. I've also created a LiveJournal syndication feed, speedforce_org.

The Scarlet Speedster hasn't really had a blog out there since Crimson Lightning shut down, and since I've been adding news items to the front page of my own site, I figured I'd step in and fill the gap.

I'll be posting Flash-related news there, including a weekly round-up of Flash comics, as well as articles that might not fit into the existing site structure, and (eventually) reviews as well. I'll be refining the look and features over the next couple of weeks, and cross-linking it more into Ride the Lightning.

So please, check it out and let me know what you think! I'm open to suggestions as to content, design, etc.

Bart Allen is now a action figure.

Here

Its actually Bart Allen from Smallville (Kyle Gallner)

My opinion is his eyebrows are to far apart, he looks odd.
Oh well
