Title: From Smoke and Embers.
Author: fate_incomplete
Rating: R
Warnings: Some angst, sex, swearing
Spoilers: None
Characters: Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers, Clint Barton, Tony Stark, Jarvis, Natasha Romanov
Word Count: 10,100
Summary: The Winter Soldier forgot what it was to feel...anything really, until he fell for his crime fighting partner Captain America. So Clint sets Bucky up with Steve on a blind date, cause he’s helpful like that, and also sick of their stubborn obliviousness. Things don’t exactly go to plan…or they do, eventually, but stuff happens in between.

Or, Clint is Bucky's best friend, possibly because he is the only person scarier than Natasha, Jarvis helps Bucky steal shit from Tony, and Captain America...well Steve may just be the best thing to ever happen to Bucky.

A modern AU...

( If there was a monument to bad ideas, it would be Clint Barton shaped...Collapse )

Title: Out of Reach.
Author: fate_incomplete
Rating: PG
Warnings: Some angst
Spoilers: None
Characters: Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers
Word Count: 2,800
Summary: The Winter Soldier finds his own way home in the end, but not everyone is willing to forgive his past. It’s stupid and dangerous, but he can’t stay away from Steve, and keeps following him on missions. Bucky protects Steve, it’s what he was made for, and Steve will fight to give Bucky the peace he deserves.

It’s not dealing with the horrors of the past that’s the hardest, it’s finding a place in the future.

A/N: Second fic in my OTP challenge. I will be continuing on with this fic. It was originally going to be a five times fic, with Bucky protecting Steve, but after watching the Civil War trailer it took a bit of a detour.

( If he wasn’t aching from the hit to his ribs earlier in the battle, and currently facing off against three enhanced Hydra/AIM/whoever the hell soldiers, it would almost be funny...Collapse )

Title: A path to follow home.
Author: fate_incomplete
Rating: PG
Warnings: Fluff
Spoilers: None
Characters: Erik Lehnsherr and Charles Xavier (gen or preslash, however you want to see it)
Word Count: 1,050
Summary: Erik has no idea how he ended up at Ikea, but it is undoubtedly Charles' fault.

A/N: First fic in my OTP challenge, and my first fic with this pairing. As usual no smut in sight for my first outing with them. Also no angst, which is highly unusual for me. Just domestic fluff. I'm not sure how Erik and Charles are at Ikea, lets just pretend Ikea was a thing while they were still young, in an AU where Erik comes home.

( It just kind of hits him as he stares at some monstrosity of steel and glass posing as a coffee table...Collapse )

Now see, that's what a Supernatural episode should be like. Fucking brilliant!!!

*happy sigh*

Season 11 is impressing me so far. I enjoyed season 10, there were things that annoyed me still, but it had a bit more of that SPN feel again, if I gritted my teeth through the Rowena scenes. This season...so far so good.

Instead of signing up to do Nano this November, and failing yet again to actually write anything, I've decided to do a Fanfic challange for the month instead. I've written a grand total of three fics this year...yep three, its sad, and I really want to find something to get me writing again. So nothing strenuous, no lofty word count goals, just five fics for my top five OTPs. Couple hundred words or a couple of thousand for each fic, doesn't matter. Just a challange to myself to write something for each OTP by the end of November.

So....

One Month Five OTPs Five Fics

1. Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers

2. Dean Winchester/Castiel

3. Erik Lehnsherr/Charles Xavier

4. Eleventh Doctor/Jack Harkness

5. Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinksi

Angst, domestic, AU, gen, slash...anything goes.

If anyone wants to drop by with a prompt, thoughts or inspiration in the comments, please feel free. I may need the encouragement!

Impropmtu trip up the coast to spend the weekend with Mum, Dad and my brother's family turned out rather nice. Took my niece swimming in the surf, went out to eat, did a spot of whale watching from the balcony. All in all a pretty damn fine weekend, with just two downers, sunburn, and lack of hubby, who was working.

I'm going to go crash on the couch and do an impression of an overly sunripened tomato, and catch up on some tv shows for what's left of the weekend.

Spn character showdown thingy, pinched from cassiopeia7...suprisingly accurate for me...well the second time anyway, when I resisted using the 'I like both' button

( character showdown...Collapse )

I just finished season Three of my first Spn rewatch in about two years, could be three I'm not sure. I always love that I fall in love with Dean every time I go back and do a rewatch, and then Castiel when he comes along. It's a strange sort of comfort to go back to it after so long, and feel that familar emotion the show wraps you in. It's been a long road, bumpy at times in later seasons, but a hell of a trip. I've moved onto other fandoms over the last couple of years, but going back makes me nostalgic for the show that introduced me to fandom, LJ, slash and writing fic. I've missed these characters and feeling part of the active community that was here on LJ.

...and now I'm feeling all maudalin.

Time to put on my favourite season and soak up the joy...oh wait this spn...wallow in the beautiful man pain is perhaps more apt?

On a mostly unrelated note...just realised I've hit the 200 mark for bookmarked fics on AO3, added to the 140 odd I had here on LJ, that's a whole lot of fic, considering I bookmark, what? 1 in 10 fics I read? Lets say a total of 2000 fics at an average of 10,000 words per fic...that's 20,000,000 words of fanfic I've read over the last five years....so what...the equivilant of 200 books? No wonder hubby says I read too much.

About 110 each for Supernatural (Dean/Cas) and Teen Wolf (Derek/Stiles) fics
50 Captain America (Steve/Bucky)
30 Xmen (Charles/Erik)
20 odd each for Doctor Who and Sherlock fics

I start a new job on Monday. No more 65 minute drive to work yay!!! Pretty decent drop in wages not so yay...but worth it for the twenty minute drive time and nine day fortnight, so more time at home, and frankly still a good wage. I have been on casual rates for five months, so my wage was going to drop once I went permenant anyway. After a work collegue of my husband's was killed in a car accident on his commute home a two weeks ago, I think hubby is very happy I won't have such a long drive home anymore. I've done 14,000km in twenty weeks just driving to work...yeah I'm not gonna miss that
