However, this effort is usually bedevilled by the problem of poor patronage. The research investigates how Landscaping can improve youth centres' patronage by reviewing and analysing relevant articles and conducting case studies of a selected youth centre in southwest Nigeria. The research explores literature review on youth centre patronage and Landscaping, and carried out field search of two (2) selected youth centres in southwest Nigeria; to assess the quality of facilities, incorporated landscaping elements and level of patronage. Qualitative content analysis was used to underscore the concept of patronage and Landscaping of youth centres, identify perspectives and gaps in the literature, and analyse data input from case studies. The paper identifies from literature factors affecting patronage of facilities and establishes the link between Landscaping and some factors affecting patronage. Importantly, it reveals that fusing landscaping elements into youth centres is poor, especially at the local scene. The study proposes future works Based on the findings on benefits of Landscaping to stimulate patronage, relationships between the degree and duration of impact, among others, to aid the design, implementation and management of a more efficient landscape environment for patronage. It recommends that youth centre landscaping facilities could be used to market its services. The paper identifies gaps in the literature, showing that adequate attention has not been shifted into the direction of this research. Consequently, the paper is a starting point towards more detailed research on the impact of Landscaping on patronage to address gaps in existing knowledge.

Although, the developed countries account for a higher proportion of global tourism, many developing countries are beginning to take advantage of the huge opportunities offered by tourism. However, only developing countries with effective natural and man-made tourism supporting and enhancing infrastructure have been able to develop their tourism sector and seize the attendant advantages. The need for economic diversification in most developing countries is overwhelming because of their defining mono-cultural economic characteristics where only one or two commodities dominate exports and provides the bulk of foreign exchange from which these countries could reconcile their internal and external balances. This often happens because the necessary attention to the development of such fragile touristic sites are absent thus exposing them to stages of deterioration. This paper is a review of theoretical issues related to the development and sustainability of the cultural landscape. Through the review of literatures, previous models such as, General System Theory (Cuervo, 1967), Cultural landscape Management framework (2006), Diamond Model for sustainable tourism (2017), and The Ethical tourism model (2008), a conceptual framework for the sustainability of the cultural landscape was developed. The study, however, provides useful information for the development and conservation of a cultural landscape through a framework that can inform policy makers in the tourism industry.

This paper investigates the relationship between cultural landscape and tourism, especially in Abeokuta, Ogun State. This is on the premise of bringing about sustainable development in tourism, thereby enhancing the cultural and economic values of the site. The study is important as it provides a medium for the assessment of Abeokuta cultural landscapes, and relates the influencing factors with the assessment results. This was carried out through a critical review of existing literature on cultural landscapes and the inseparable link with tourism, as well as an empirical investigation using the quantitative method of data collection through questionnaire survey on all stakeholders in the tourism industry in Abeokuta. The data generated from the survey were analyzed and results were expressed in percentages. The findings revealed that cultural landscapes actually have a positive input regarding sustainable development, and also have immense contributions towards the wellbeing of man. It also brought to limelight, the factors contributing to the quality of landscapes in Abeokuta. The paper therefore strongly recommends that adequate information should be made available to all stakeholders to improve their interest and participation, which brings about effective management, and subsequently, sustainable tourism.

The history of a people are often woven around such environments because their socio-religious links are without a doubt attached to it. These sites, apart from its historical qualities contain natural elements such as rocks, hills, rivers, caves and are today developed for tourism with so much investment being committed to achieving maximum benefits of tourism. However, with the challenges of climate change and most especially flood for sites which are river-based, hopes may be dashed, and development swept away just in one episode of flood when prevention is not considered. This paper, therefore, examines the challenges of flood on such heritage sites using the Osun-Osogbo Grove as a case study. Observation method was used to gather necessary information from tour guides and frequent users of the site. It holds that in the redesign of such sites, integration of control, mitigation of flood risk and other man-made enclosures is essential to cope with the challenge and therefore prevent destruction. It then discusses some of the ways these design goals can be accomplished. It closes by recommending how the strategies can be propagated to the stakeholders.

However, in the developing parts of the world, improper planning, design, and landscaping have prevented cemeteries from optimal performance. As a consequence, people choose to bury indiscriminately within residential. This research seeks to reveal planning, sustainable design, and landscaping of the cemetery as a necessary solution to these consequences. The case study method was employed using the tools of observation, interviews, documentation and online resources for information gathering. Three (3) case studies that represent ownership rights of cemeteries within the study area and country were analyzed. The results show that regarding planning, sustainable design and landscaping. Private cemeteries are better planned than others but with exorbitant prices. Religiously owned cemeteries exemplify love and support to deceased families as a crucial reason for grave allocation above other reasons. Most government cemeteries seem to exhibit a lack of proper planning, design, and sustainable landscaping. The research concludes that the lack of proper planning, design, and landscaping of most cemeteries is a significant reason why many bury indiscriminately. Also, the high cost of burial in private cemeteries has discouraged patronage. The paper recommends that sustainable planning, design, and landscaping must be employed for eco-friendliness in cemeteries.
