Final Fantasy IX's Journal (original) (raw)

Final Fantasy 9 Current Status Journal Log

I started playing FF9 as in a new game, therefore these are my current status in said game:

Final Fantasy 9:
Disc 2
Lv. 16
Current Party: Zidane, FREYA, Q, and Vivi
Location: Cleyra, Inn
Gil: 1,395
Time elapsed: 13:39:15

So I had found quite a lot of items, secrets, and locations that I completely missed the first time I played. Burmecia's theme still moves me everytime I visit it, and I had hunted down that track because the ambient sound is so rich. Coincidentaly, it has been raining lately, so when I was doing battle there it fit just right. I love rain BTW.

When I reached Cleyra yesterday the weather here returned to its sunny status, which kinda freaked me out a bit. But it was cool at the same time. I visited Treno which is one of my favorite locations of the game and played that Tetra Master game which I lost miserably.

I still believe the Burmecians are the cutest demi human creatures the series had ever created.
You know, it is relaxing to play the old school FF games. Its so slow paced and you can take your time without feeling like you must level up quickly or get something done in a rush. Unlike today's titles which are more action oriented than what they supposed to be in the first place.

I also am playing the old Gameboy titles even though their mechanics are quite different from what the NES and SNES versions were. And yes, I am yet to find another FF7 copy to continue my quest, although I am trying to figure how to find that damn harp which will allow me to go throught that Sleeping Forest. I know I must ask those people to excavate but none of them ever ask me if I want to do that when I prod at them, so I am not sure if I need to do something first to trigger the event that will allow me to find said harp. At least I could do that quest and get it done while I can get another FF7 copy of Disc 1.

Back to FF9. It seems that this title has a LOT of random battles than most I had played in other sequels, and they are a bit more difficult as well. I am however grateful that you can Pause the game even when you are on the Overworld map, something that was always needed in previous titles. I am not sure if FF8 had that feature though, can't remember.

I managed to rescue all the characters during Alexandria's raid on Cleyra and got a lot of neat items and cards from them. When the cutscene when Cleyra gets destroyed glitched, I was actually relieved on not having to see that again.

On a last note, Bob's Burgers is the worst cartoon I ever had to endure.
