In accordance with economic development and increased consumption, Croatia also has recorded steady growth of municipal waste which requires the need of scientifi c interest and reasearch into its population’s behavior in regard to waste. This paper presents the results of survey conducted among the students of the Faculty of Philosophy in Split. The study was conducted with the fundamental purpose of disclosing social and environmental aspects of the problem of waste in this population, particularly the practice of recycling. Also, obtained results were compared with the results of research about citizen’s relation toward waste in city of Split. Special importance of studying the student population comes from the demographic and educational particularities of this group, as well as their expectations and responsibilities with regard to solving environmental ...

The behaviour of individuals within the work environment is directed toward producing and adopting new concept and ideas. A supportive environment is of great importance. At the same time, the modalities of the use of ICT illustrate the attitudes and behaviours of employees and vice versa, which affects the process of acquiring new knowledge and concepts within the workplace (Harper et al., 2001 ; Livari & Huisman, 2007). All this directly affects the change, outdated work patterns, the existing organizational structure, working hours, forms of employment and efficiency itself. Positive aspects of the relationship of ICT and organizational culture are reflected in the impr...

In this context, we are talking about sustainability as a positive practice towards the environment. This paper addresses the problem of hidden total water consumption in the framework of the modern consumer, hygiene, and dietary habits of the respondents at the household and individual level. It presents an empirical analysis of water footprint values of an average respondent. Water footprint is one of the newer concepts that are used to calculate the total direct (water consumed directly by showering, drinking, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.) and indirect consumption (consumption of water that is used for the production of goods and which the consumer indirectly consumes by consuming a product) of water per individual per unit of time expressed in liters of water. The authors of the paper introduces the level of sustainability of the water footprint in order to meet the basic research question - to what extent is an average water footprint of an individual in the sample sustainable?

Stakeholders comprise all those holding stakes in relation to schools and their students, and who can contribute to decreasing problems and improving results. Stakeholders aim to promote and clarify communication. It is essential for them to have an informed approach to communication and consider its fundamental principles. The authors concentrate on stakeholders in education and communication processes, emphasizing the health problems of schoolchildren and youth. Communication in the field of health promotion, in particular concerning obesity prevention, is presented as an issue that is of fundamental importance for society, which includes both internal and external stakeholders in schools.
