🚀 Our development roadmap 🚀 Today, we announce our development roadmap with technical milestones targeting fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2030, while enabling a dedicated Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) approach for near-term usage. Our 12-year roadmap reflects our vision for pioneering quantum solutions through novel algorithmic approaches, modular software integration, and scalable hardware advancements. Key highlights: ◾ We outline a path to scaling up to 1 million qubits with combined quantum error reduction and error correction. ◾ The roadmap is underpinned by merging our two processor topologies Star and Crystal for hardware efficient error correction as well as an open modular software stack for HPC integration. ◾ We demonstrate early industry use cases in quantum machine learning, simulation and optimization. ◾ Our cleanroom and manufacturing facilities will ensure the fabrication and scalability of complex processors with unique long-range connections, facilitating high-performance quantum processors. Read more in the full press release in our newsroom (link in the comments). Also, join us for our free webinar tomorrow to hear more about the roadmap (registration link in the comments).#IQM #QuantumComputing #DevelopmentRoadmap #FaultTolerantQuantumComputing Jan Goetz Juha Vartiainen Juha Hassel Inés De Vega Mikko Välimäki Hermanni Heimonen Andreas Theer Dr. Peter Eder Peter F. Blair Robertson Janne Kuisma Tomi Riipinen - We are excited to announce that our quantum cloud service, IQM Resonance, will be available to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the largest U.S. Department of Energy science and energy laboratory. Through ORNL’s Quantum Computing User Program, over 400 end-users, such as academic institutions, researchers, scientists, and developers, will access IQM Crystal and Star quantum processing unit to explore computational research applications. “Our Quantum Computing User Program is dedicated to exploring new frontiers of quantum research,” said Travis Humble, Director of the Quantum Science Center at ORNL. “By granting researchers access to leading-edge technology, we're enabling them to pioneer new approaches to tackling complex scientific questions." Let’s talk quantum use cases! According to Hyperion Research’s 4th annual Global Quantum Computing Market survey, about half of the market for early use cases of quantum computing is expected to be in chemistry, financial services, and cybersecurity by 2026. In the first of our free webinar series, lead discussant Bob Sorensen, Chief Analyst for Quantum Computing at Hyperion Research, will delve into “Quantum Computing, Ready to Address Real-World Use Cases.” In addition, our Head of Algorithms & Error Control, Martin Leib, and Matthew Kiser of Volkswagen Group will present IQM-Volkswagen joint research findings on battery chemistry. Register (link in the comments) and join us on 14th November 2024 from 16:00pm (EET) or 9:00am (EST) for this informative session.#IQM #QuantumComputing #UseCases Jan Goetz Rubica Bhowmick Irina Lomperi Sylwia Barthel de Weydenthal (she/her) Fedor Šimkovic Peter F.
