Title: Rose Coloured Glasses

Summary: Heechul ponders his history and patterns with Siwon.

Author's Note: I am inspired by the symbolisms in One More Time/Otra Vez music video. It gave me feels. Sichul feels. Especially because the only part Heechul lip-synched, while looking very intense, is Otra Vez, which means One More Time.

He had no obligation to even appear in the mv. He said it's for Petals and ELF. What about China, Macau, Simba, history and expectation? I've my own theories about his other possible reasons.

Symbolisms in the mv stood out to me. Heechul's rose coloured glasses. Sparkly high-heeled shoe. The roses. The flower appliques on the jackets. The petals on the floor. Bleeding finger after touching the cactus. Walking over broken glass (slipper?) on the floor. The placing of a ring on the heel of one sparkly shoe. In my feelings, it became the story of Cinderella and Simba, all over again.

Then there are their interactions on SNS. Heechul making comments related to Simba on Siwon's posts. Siwon praising fans for drawing lions to represent him, even though his more commonly associated animal is horse and his more frequently used nickname is Masi. I can't recall other members referring to him as Simba. Long term mutual agreement/understanding with Heechul; Siwon is still Simba therefore Heechul is still Cinderella, even if nobody calls him that anymore.

All this time later, my own rose coloured glasses are firmly in place. I still see what I want to see. Pained love; "Like a rose without a thorn ... if there's a painless love, we wouldn't be the same." - Anggun

I hope they remain a significant part of each others lives, for their whole lives. Love is love. Love is beautiful. I ♥ Sichul/Simcin. Cinderella + Simba since 2005, as promoted/confirmed by both, since 2005, lol.

Also, I'm the one who misses Heechul's cyworld. He was just so much more fun and open on there, plus, you know, yuri9doo (yurigudoo)=glass slipper. :D Ahh, Cinderella, Cinderella.

I miss the environment on Cyworld. I miss our nicknames. I said always that it's once and never again with the same person but because it's you, I must have lied.

You didn't lie. You still protect me. My rose coloured glasses are intact with you. Coloured by love and familiarity. I still see us the same.

If I lose my metaphorical glass slipper, you still find it and return it to me, even if the glass is broken and cuts you. Does it equal a confirmation of long standing commitment? Maybe. A ring would make it more clear.

As much as I'm your flower, I'm also a thorn in your paw, am I not? I'm your prick. I hurt you. Never on purpose. I can only be myself. Yet you're still there. So reliable and cool.

You beg don't leave but I do and then I demand let me hurt you one more time so you close the distance. Or maybe I do?

Being near you for the flimsiest of reasons. Reminding you, randomly, of your guileless promise, through SNS, even when it's a stretch. Confirming the nickname I gave you. You embrace it, again, each time. You continue to keep your promise. My heart is temporarily eased.

I don't mind the speculation of others. I never have. You know how it goes and I continue to be myself. Fragile, thorny, prickly. Protected by you, accepted by you, one more time. Saranghae nado. Gracias.
