I have created a button, called stationary ( for my portfolio) in the "over" state it has a movie clip containing some motion tweens making it move from the bottom of the page to the top of the page
what i want to happen ( Im new to flash) is once i start the movie by clicking on my stationary button, is to have the word move to the top and stay in which a clickable slide show can be presented. and you can click on next and previous buttons.
how do I get this to happen?
www.voilagraphicart.com I put it up just so you can see what Im trying to achieve. even thought it is a work in progress.
i just want to have some slide shows and i need to add more titles on the bottom like, brochures, logos, ect so every time you rollover one you get to a slide show that you can click upon.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

button rollover hello all,
this is probably a really simple question... it's been awhile since i've done something like this, and my brain is failing me.
i'm creating a image gallery in which the buttons are thumbnails of the larger images. the idea is, you rollover the thumbnail button to show the large image. however, the large images are not only showing up on the rollover of the button, but also when you rollover the area where the larger image will ultimately be. that's not what i want to happen!
basically i'm placing the large image in the over and down states of the button. apparently that's not the thing to do?
i was hoping to have this done tonight...
any help/suggestions greatly appreciated!

movie clip interaction Hi everyone!
I'm newer to Flash and I've been struggling with a problem here for a few days. I need to create a row of vertical image slices that expand and push the other slices to the side on mouse over. I've found a way to setup the expanding part (mask animation in movie clip), but I just can't understand how to push the other clips with the mask expansion. Please check out my test here.
I originally thought I would just animate the slices moving over (the end product will have more than two) with the mask animation, but it appears that you cannot animate other movie clips from inside a clip (each slice/animation is it's own movie clip).
Any ideas would be great, thanks!!!

Flash 8 publishing question I am publishing a Flash file as a Quicktime .mov file. I have on its own layer in my file an audio track of an mp3 file. I have tried playing with the publish settings, but as of yet, I haven't been able to get the audio to work on my .mov file. It works when I publish a .swf file though.
I find the settings very confusing, and I'm not sure of exactly what I'm selecting. Any advice? Thanks!

Adobe Flash courses? Anyone have recommendations on Adobe Flash courses? I was looking at the New Horizons website (http://www.newhorizons.com/content/courseSchedule.aspx?ClassID=300003333&SiteID=45), where they offer 1 or 2-day long courses in all different kinds of software. This company was recommended to me by a friend, but they don't necessarily offer the specific courses I want in my area. I live in Westchester just north of NYC, so something in the Westchester/NYC/Connecticut area would be ideal.
Thanks!

Flash 8 glitch? I run Flash 8 at work (OS 10.3.9) and at home (OS 10.4). On both, there is a strange, annoying problem where everytime I go to another program, or even to the desktop, and then go BACK into Flash, I have to wait about 30 seconds until I can do anything. I have to watch the hourglass (or rather the spinning color wheel) and wait.
This is a relatively minor issue. But it can be very annoying and time-consuming especially when I'm frequently jumping between Flash and several other programs.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Is there a fix? Thanks!

Our buddies over at Guerilla Union are looking for Flash Designer/Developers who have knowledge of ActionScript 2.0 for some freelance work. Here's a bit about Guerilla Union:
Guerilla Union is a company dedicated to developing Corban ideals and independent projects including world-class music festivals, artist management, and clothing. Moreover, Guerilla Union is an artist support group. Guerilla Union has developed many strategic partnerships with some of the most recognized artists in Hip Hop including Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, and Supernatural. Guerilla Union is a manic collective of like-minded individuals committed to the pursuit of art, music, and culture. Guerilla Union's mission is to invoke change and promote self-respect. Chang Weisberg is the founder of Guerilla Union. From reuniting A Tribe Called Quest to publishing Big Pun's last article, Chang and his Guerilla Union team have been involved with shaping Hip Hop culture on the West Coast for nearly a decade.
How sweet is that? The place is located on the borders of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties in the city of San Dimas, CA. If interested, please contact Veronica@GuerillaUnion.com. Tell 'em Racket sent you.

I'm sort of a beginner when it comes to Flash and I just saw an effect that looks really interesting, but I can't figure out how it's done. It's probably really simple, but I'm just not seeing it.
There's a big map and when you put your mouse over a continent, then the rest of the map darkens. Is it just a rollover of some kind? Masking? A combination of the two? And how would you combine the two?
If you could point me toward some similar tutorials, that would be great too!
The Flash package in question is here.
Thank you.

Using an animated sequence as a preloader... ok, all i seem to be able to find online for tutorials of flash preloaders are the kinds that either use some type of progress bar, a running tally on 'bytes loaded', or some looping animation. what if i want to have an animated sequence (ex. a flower growing, a car driving from point A to point B, or even a balloon being inflated till the point where it pops) and sync up the speed/progress of that sequence to the speed/progress of my swf download? is that too much to ask? lol, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
here's another example of what i'm talking about. the loading animation is simply this movie of the "labyrinth" being slowly revealed by a mask.

movie loop question hey,
i've recently taken on a web project after having been out of graphics for many years and unfortunately i've forgotten alot.
i created a simple slideshow type movie with fade transitions, but at the end when it loops back to the beginning, there's a visual gap... sort of a hiccup... a blank spot before replaying...
how can i get the thing to loop smoothly and uninterrupted?
thanks in advance!

Load a .swf file I have a .swf file that was created for me. It's pretty big, so I want to put a preloader on it. What I'm planning on doing is setting up a main movie with my preloader and then loading the .swf file.
QUESTIONS:
-How do I specify to not exit my preloader portion of the movie until the external .swf file has fully loaded?
-How do I load the swf file? Do I drop it into its own layer from the library as I would an image file? Or should I just use code?
Thanks!!
