New recipe: Crab Fen Yung (original) (raw)
1 small package of pre cooked real crab meat (or imitation for those of you who like)
a handful of fresh broccoli
a handful of fresh asparagus
one ripe and juicy lemon
1 tablespoon of "I can't believe it's not butter" (guess what, it IS)
1 handful of dry rice noodles
2 tablespoons of sour cream
some garlic powder
a sprinkle of pepper
boil the broccoli for about 3-5 minutes until still crisp but bright green in a medium sized sauce pan. sprinkle the broccoli with some garlic.
In a nonstick saute pan melt some I can't believe its not butter at low to medium low temperature. chop the dry ends of the asparagus and throw them away. the remaining asparagus should be quartered into smaller pieces so they may stay crisp but cook quickly. toss them into the saute pan and drain the crab meat, breaking it into small chunks or even strips, adding it to the mix. Drain the broccoli and gently move them to the saute pan. Stir and sprinkle with some pepper. Slice the lemon in half and squeeze the juice over the food, stir again and let sit for 1 minute in the heat.
After serving the food into a bowl take some of the rice noodles and place them all over the food, toss on some sour cream and eat.
** I wasn't sure which book really inspired this. You could say it was all of them, every time I read FLB's books I come up with recipes of my own. They don't always apply to a phrase in the book. it's just inspiration. You guys can decide which or IF the recipes even belong to any of her books. Either way I hope you guys enjoy it!
