Flute Music Stores [Jan. 6th, 2009|07:45 pm]flute_music
Hey, I've been watching this community for a while but kept forgetting to join. I never had anything to post until now, lol, but I really only have a question. What are good sites online to purchase flute music? I'm looking to buy Bach's Partita (in A minor I believe) and Telemann's Fantasia (specifically Fantasia 12, the grave thing). So, what are good sites to buy music from? I want a hard copy, like a published book or something, not just a sheet music online download or anything. Thanks for any help ^.^

Recital planning...still [Dec. 7th, 2008|10:37 am]flute_music
Hey fluters, I'm trying to plan a recital to play in my hometown. This one won't be for school, but for a bunch of country folk (lol!) so things like the Ibert concerto and Martin Ballade are out of the question. I've put together a tenative list of pieces that I think will work well, but I want to hear what other flutists think. Thanks for the help! These aren't in recital order, but here they are:Stamitz - Concerto in GGluck - Minuet and Dance of the Blessed SpiritsBach - Sonata in E minorGanne - Andante and ScherzoSoliloquy for Solo Flute (a piece I wrote for my composition recital last semester)Demersseman - Grande Fantasy on OberonThis list isn't final, so I'm open to any and all suggestions. I am trying to keep the recital to about an hour long though. Thanks!

Senior Recital [Oct. 19th, 2008|10:49 am]flute_music
My flute recital is in the spring, and I have a tenative list set, so I thought I'd post it here to see if other people thought it was a good line-up (i.e. the music fits together, and flows from one piece to the next), or see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks!Sonata for Flute and Piano - Jindrich FeldAndante and Scherzo - Louis GanneBallade - MartinSecond Sonata (for Violin) - Germaine TailleferreGrande Fantasie sur Oberon - DemerssemanThe Great Train Race - Ian ClarkeI'm like the order of the first two, and the last two, but I'm not so sure about the order of the middle two. Any suggestions?

Pricing/Selling Instruments [Mar. 20th, 2008|10:52 pm]flute_music
Hi, I have four piccolos, two of which I am considering selling because I never use them, and another that I'm just curious to see about how much it's worth. I can supply pictures of these piccolos if anyone wants to see them. Thanks! Phil x-posted
