“Antique” style fonts for manga added to the Ten Mincho typeface family.
Ten Mincho Antique is designed for use in manga production. It has kana characters designed in the authentic Japanese “antique” type style with low contrast between the horizontal and vertical strokes. It has six weights, and each font supports special characters and symbols commonly used for lines in manga. Using Ten Mincho Antique in your manga will provide varied, rich typographic expression. Ten Mincho Antique combines kana characters with the classic, relaxed shape of Ten Mincho Text and the simple, elegant kanji characters of Source Han Sans. It also includes Latin characters from Source Sans designed by Paul D. Hunt.
The Adobe Originals program started in 1989 as an in-house type foundry at Adobe, brought together to create original typefaces of exemplary design quality, technical fidelity, and aesthetic longevity.
Today the Type team’s mission is to make sophisticated and even experimental typefaces that explore the possibilities of design and technology.
