Can I install cuDNN on Ubuntu 20.04 via WSL2? (original) (raw)

Hi,

I have followed the steps in this guide,Installation Guide :: NVIDIA Deep Learning cuDNN Documentation
to install Cuda. then I have installed tensorflow-gpu via anaconda.
Next, I want to install cuDNN but am not sure if I should be following the guide for Linux or Windows from here,
Installation Guide :: NVIDIA Deep Learning cuDNN Documentation

and do I need a local installer for Ubuntu 20.04 x86_64(Deb) or Local Installer for Linux x86_64 (Tar) for cuDNN v8.4.1 from https://developer.nvidia.com/rdp/cudnn-download?

can I even install it in WSL2?

Thank you very much for any replies.

I have the following.
Ubuntu 20.04 via WSL2
Windows 10 21H2
Nvidia latest driver, 512.95 compatible with GeForce RTX 3060
Cuda Driver Version/ Runtime Version 11.6/11.4( shall I update this to 11.7?)
Tensorflow 2.9.1
Python 3.9.7.

Would you have a answer to this?
Same situation here… WSL2 ubuntu

There’s forums are not of help. These devs always assume we know it all. 0 help……

Sad to see there is little brotherly support between those who want to learn and those who know….
