Hello thar! (original) (raw)
Hello thar
I finally have actual, high speed, wireless internet. I am officially back in the world! Extremely good timing too as I have been isolated from humanity due to swine flu symptoms :( I am locked in my flat until thursday so that I don't risk infecting anyone else with my piggy flu bugs. Which means no birthday/birthday celebrations for me this year, only pj's bed and a mountain of tissues. I should have known really, the birthday gods do not like me having nice birthdays, expecting anything more than dissapointment and usually some form of illness is expecting waaay too much. At least when I'm not in bed I can download stuff to watch and keep me from going completely around the bend with bordem, although my main source for tv/films has shut me out due to my lack of net for the past two years, slightly unfair.
I finally moved into the new flat after a pile of crap, the original place which was next door to my old flat went through at the last minute, literally a day before we were meant to get the keys and move in the landlord turned around and said they didn't want to do it anymore and left us homeless. Luckily the agency we're with immediately got us a viewing for a place just down the road which was vacant and ready for us to move into asap, it's a really nice flat, not as big as the original place but still lovely. We've got a large L-shaped wrap around balcony around the kitchen/living area, a large bathroom and two large bedrooms, I dibbed the largest room. The building is only 5 years old and in the marina area of ocean village, you can see the boats from one side of the balcony, we live opposite 2 cinemas, one a multiplex and another an art house so all our movie needs are covered and we're above a supermarket too so we've got everything within reach. The only thing we need now are sofa's and we'll hopefully have those the beginning of next month when we get paid.
Everything is actually pretty good apart from the piglet bugs, things seem to be coasting along okay for the first time in a while, the old flat is all sorted the new flat is great, i'm finally starting to sort out my application for my masters course at uni and sort out the financial aid situation, just being able to do all these things for me is amazing after spending all my time worrying about james and where his life was going. The next few years are going to be selfish and all about me.
