Silicon photonics pioneer CEA-leti will unveil major R&D gains at Photonics West, jan. 25-30 in San Francisco, including invited paper on optical phased arrays for #lidar applications. CEA-Leti will present six papers 📃, including an invited one, detailing its recent breakthroughs and major results for the future of #photonics-based applications. - [EUROPE] With FAMES, CEA, consortium members along with Chips JU are shaping the future of #semiconductors 🚀 🤝 CEA-Leti will also participate in the pilot lines coordinated by imec on advanced computing (NanoIC pilot line), by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft on heterogeneous system integration (APECS Pilot Line), and by ICFO on photonic integrated circuits (PIXEurope), with the fifth pilot line led by Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche focusing on new wide band gap materials (WBG). 🚀 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. 💡 We are thrilled to announce the launch of the FAMES Pilot Line, a flagship project under the EU Chips Act, coordinated by CEA-Leti, focusing on developing a set of technology (#FDSOI 10 and 7nm, non-volatile memories, #3D technologies, radiofrequency component and Power Management Integrated Circuits) to allow disruptive energy-efficient chips architectures and foster the competitiveness of the European #semiconductor industry. 🌍 Last Thursday, in Brussels, European Commission Executive VP Henna Virkkunen, François Jacq, CEA CEO and President of the EARTO - European Association of Research and Technology Organisations association, and the leaders of European RTO Luc Van den hove (imec), Albert Heuberger (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft), Stefano Fabris (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Valerio Pruneri (ICFO), came together to celebrate this significant milestone. 🔬With a total budget of €830 million allocated until December 2028, co-funded by the EU and participating Member States, the FAMES Pilot Line will support the R&D needed to increase Europe’s semiconductor development and manufacturing capabilities, securing a portfolio of sovereign technologies. 💬 "The launch of the FAMES Pilot Line is a pivotal moment for Europe’s semiconductor landscape. This process requires an important production of inactive viruses loaded with #DNA 🦠. - [DEMO] A self-contained energy harvesting system and sensor integrated into a door to monitor usage. 🚪 ❓An #electromagnetic element serves as both a #sensor and an energy harvester. Each time force is exerted on the element (in this case, when the door is opened or closed), energy is harvested, and the measurement is incremented on a non-volatile #memory. The #data can then be read with an external device like a smartphone using wireless #NFC #technology. - [AWARD] Developing #6G technology challenges us to reinvent #antenna systems to cope with bandwidth, latency and power consumption constraints.
