A group of us who have formed our own little cult for wierdness, expressing odd ideas and just having some twisted fun. Feel free to stop by and join. We're looking to expand our audience outside of the heartland.

skeeser: sorry for the cross-posting.

Bush nominated Judge John Roberts—a right-wing fruitcake who once wrote, “Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided and should be overruled.” Please, for the love of all things pink and moist, sign the petition at MoveOn.org imploring the Senate not to confirm this wanker to the Supreme Court.

igniprimum: PETA and their Propaganda...

Ok, so I think it's fucked that the fur business mistreats animals, and I don't support Jennifer Lopez for any reason, regardless of whether she wears fur or not.

However, I can say with 100% confidence that the gratuitously violent propaganda distributed by PETA via their website,

http://www.jlodown.com

brought me no closer to either of these senitiments, and if anything, it is because of such organizations and their propaganda methods that I am not more vocally in support of such causes.

They rely on shock, guilt, and moral coercion to press their message/agenda on people who would generally lack the ability to otherwise formuate their own opinions.

This method is identical to that used by apocalyptic religious cults and the like.

I guess it is little wonder that both kinds of organizations tend to be largely populated by people who have a difficult time thinking for themselves, and can only recite, parrot-style, their groups' accepted and prescribed rhetoric.

rp60: Vote for President Bush!

Here is one reason why you should vote for President Bush: Bush wants to make his tax cuts permanent while Kerry wants to undo those cuts!

Many democrats say that Bush's tax cuts only favor the rich, but after reading the following story, you will understand why these tax cuts are necessary.

leelah: ATTENTION ALL CALIFORNIAN 3RD PARTY SUPPORTERS.

URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL NADER SUPPORTERS

The Nader for President 2004 campaign needs your help in California now!

We are looking for 55 voters to act as elector's for Mr. Nader's independent presidential run. Your name along with 54 others will be printed on the Nomination Papers/petitions to gain ballot access for his independent presidential run in California. We will need to collect 210,000 signatures before August 6th and will not be able to begin the collection until these electors are in place.

If you are a supporter, willing and able, please visit your local Registrar of Voter office and ask for a Declaration of Candidacy form (Election code 8550). You'll fill out your registered name, address and fill in Ralph Nader as the Presidential nominee (leave the V.P. space blank for now). After completing the form, the clerk will verify your registration and give you an oath of office (they may ask you to come back to take it but just affirm that you are ready now). Then the clerk will notarize and hand you a copy.

At that point, please email me at lyndah@votenader.org.

If you can't help out now, in the next 7-10 days we will begin gathering signatures for this important campaign. This may be the only chance we have to shine a critical light on such important issues as an exit strategy for Iraq, single-payer healthcare for 44 million Americans, a living wage and critical research and development of renewable energy.

Let's allow more voices and more choices - that's what democracy is all about. Thank you for your time.
