First of all, I want to thank anyone who gives this idea a try. It was a strange dream I had the other night, and I thought it would fit well into this setting.

The basic theme is this:
The world ended almost 20 years ago, however this is taking place current time [[so it happened some time in the 80's]], in a surge of natural disasters that left the planet infertile and barren. Many parts of the world were lost to hurricanes and tsunamis, while the majority of the United States went down in flames. Almost the entire human population was eliminated, as well as a large chunk of the animal life. The humans that survived, have begun to rebuild and start over. The humans, some of them have been effected strangely by the change of the planet, and have developed 'paranormal' powers. Not all, but it is significant enough to where it must be mentioned. [[Like I said, not everyone has these powers, so don't feel obligated to create a power for your character. It is merely an option]]

This RP will take place in the United States, in Philadelphia. Like I said, the country was mostly destroyed by fire. Though life is starting to take hold again, it is unstable. Class systems are forming, with a distinct upper class, who control the money and the majority of the high paying jobs. There is also a middle class, who can't seem to get ahead, and are stuck living in the broken down houses that the upper class helps to provide. Then there are the lower class, who are stuck to sleeping under bridges and live their lives by the skin of their teeth.

Things like cars, and other luxuries do exist (this also includes things like alcohol, drugs, and housing). However, they are only available to the upper class. The middle and lower class can obtain them, but it's the upper class that distributes it. This is due mostly to the fact that the resources are so limited, and the upper class holds all the power.

There is no distinct authority other than the class system. This leaves room for crime bosses and drug lords to run wild. While there are police, they are corrupt and easily swayed for the most part. There is a slave economy established in the South, slowly making it's way up north. Australia was encased in ice, while northern America was infested by Zombies. Texas was ravaged by drought, while Europe dealt with some serious floods. There are businesses established and running, and a system of money, but it's hard to come by, and jobs are few and far between. The real question seems to be: who can you really trust in a world that is constantly at war within itself?

Rules:

1. No first or second person during rp sessions (examples: I, we, you). In journal entries, first person is acceptable.
2. Journals need to be updated at least twice a month. Miss once, you get a warning, miss twice, you're out.
3. The mods aren't dealing with drama. Period.
4. This will not be a RP dominated by cliques. If we notice you are getting cliquey, you will get a warning. If it doesn't stop, you're out. Try to really spread your convos out guys, and talk to everyone.
5. This is a community, you're going to be interacting with other people. If the person you are rping with does something that affects your character, don't bitch, go along with it.
6. ftf_convos is a community to post conversations from the RP. This isn't a requirement, but it is suggested. Please be sure to join and add the community to your friend's list as soon as you're accepted.
7.To prove you have read the rules, where it says "mimaw" type "those were the days"
8. Be creative, I don't want 9 different suicidal telepaths.
9. No more than five characters per person.
10. Mpreg is allowed, but within reason. Must be mod-approved and done in an appropriate time line.
11. Character death is allowed, but also within reason. Make sure to run it by the mods first.
12. OOC drama needs to stay OOC.
13. Make sure your Journal name and SN have something to do with your character's name (ex-Conor Oberst: conors_sonnet) (though there are some exceptions for SN only if you're working from mobile)
14. all entries must be friends only. in both the convo community and in journals.
15. Everyone must have an AIM sn. This is the easiest and most convenient way to RP. Your app will not be accepted without an sn.
16. Post your application to the entry in this community.
17. We have quite a few members who RP only from mobile. Do not discriminate against them. Try to play with everyone.

If anyone has any questions, don't be scared to contact the mods. Contact CJ first, as she will most likely have the most availability.
