Additional and updated records since Johnson & Valley (2005) are summarized for 28 species and one hybrid with some range maps updated. The current county records and early/late flight dates for all known species in Oregon are presented.

Being a climacteric fruit crop, it suffers with shorter shelf life with loss of appearance under ambient conditions. The fruits were subjected to washing treatments for 5 minutes using aqueous ozone, hydrogen peroxide, Sodium hypochlorite and calcium hypochlorite solutions and then stored under ambient condition for 6 days. The fruits treated with sodium hypochlorite and aqueous ozone showed significantly minimum physiological loss in weight (14.23 and 14.28 per cent), minimum (22.38 and 22.63oB) total soluble solids, respiration rate (62.23 and 60.40ml CO2/kg/hr) and titratable acidity (0.63 and 0.62 per cent) was seen in sodium and calcium hypochlorite treated fruits as compared to untreated fruits. Highest sensory scores (7.00) were observed in the fruits treated with aqueous ozone. This experiment shows that there is immense scope for using ozone by the s...

A key operational component of SAS is the program data vector. Without it SAS would not function as we know it. With knowledge of how the program data vector functions, programmers can better understand how SAS works. This paper will help you understand how the program data vector works, how data steps use it, and how you can exploit, manipulate, and trick it. Many examples are included; the magic behind of the DOW-loop and other mysteries will be discussed. There is something in this paper for all levels of programmers from the very beginner to the most advanced.

The longer-term outcomes of these implants are just starting to be studied, making it imperative to monitor contact loads across the entire joint implant interface to elucidate the force transmission and distribution mechanisms exhibited by these implants in service. This study proposes and demonstrates the design, implementation, and characterization of a 3D-printed smart polymer sensor array using conductive polyaniline (PANI) structures embedded within a polymeric parent phase. The piezoresistive characteristics of PANI were investigated to characterize the sensing behaviour inherent to these embedded pressure sensor arrays, including the experimental determination of the stable response of PANI to continuous loading, stability throughout the course of loading and unloading cycles, and finally sensor repeatability and linearity in response to incremental loading cycles. However, there appears to be considerable variance in the minimum requirements for foreign language training across U.S. business schools, including the provision of “business” language courses, and in what is viewed as “competence” or “fluency” in a foreign language. Similarly, business schools differ in their procedures for how the foreign language requirement is applied to foreign native speakers and/or to speakers of heritage languages. This study reports the results of an online survey that was sent to 226 schools offering a major or concentration in IB. The findings from 79 reporting schools indicate that the level of proficiency expected of foreign language learners in the IB program continues to vary widely, that few schools require a course in the business aspects of the foreign language, and that there is inconsistency in what is meant by foreign language “competence” and “fluency,” as well as in the treatment of foreign native speakers and heritage speakers of foreign languages. The results question whether students who satisfy the minimum foreign language requirements in undergraduate IB programs are adequately prepared for the professional IB world.

We assess trends in these two sectors of wildlife recreation over several decades and analyse their economic impacts based on 2012 data. We examine both non-resident bear hunting with guide outfitters and independent local (resident) hunters, as well as bear viewing offered by tourism companies in the GBR. We provide strong evidence that bear viewing in the GBR is generating far more economic value: bear-viewing companies generated over 12 times more in visitor spending than guided non-resident and independent resident hunters combined ($15.1 million versus 1.2million)and11timesmoreingovernmentrevenues(1.2 million) and 11 times more in government revenues (1.2million)and11timesmoreingovernmentrevenues(7.3 million versus $660,5001). Such findings should be useful to policy-makers in determining allocations of public resources and priorities for conservation efforts. In our assessment, if bear viewing expands at its current rate, the economy of the GBR will experience few negative impacts from a ban on bear hunting.

Therefore, it is expected that long-term dynamics of DOC in surface waters reflect DOC trends in soil solution. However, a multitude of site studies have failed so far to establish consistent trends in soil solution DOC, whereas increasing concentrations in European surface waters over the past decades appear to be the norm, possibly as a result of recovery from acidification. The objectives of this study were therefore to understand the long-term trends of soil solution DOC from a large number of European forests (ICP Forests Level II plots) and determine their main physico-chemical and biological controls. We applied trend analysis at two levels: (1) to the entire European dataset and (2) to the individual time series and related trends with plot characteristics, i.e., soil and vegetation properties, soil solution chemistry and atmospheric deposition loads. Analyses...

Therefore, our objective was to develop and evaluate a simulator which uses real-time kinematic feedback and closed loop proportional integral differential (PID) control to produce motion. The simulator's ability to investigate a clinically relevant variable-namely muscle loading changes resulting from reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA)-was evaluated and compared to previous findings to further demonstrate its efficacy. Motion control of cadaveric shoulders was achieved by applying continuously variable forces to seven muscle groups. Muscle forces controlling each of the three glenohumeral rotational degrees of freedom (DOF) were modulated using three independent PID controllers running in parallel, each using measured Euler angles as their process variable. Each PID controller was conf...

Accurate determination of the flexion-extension axis of the elbow affects the outcome of implant ... more Accurate determination of the flexion-extension axis of the elbow affects the outcome of implant replacement. The current study proposes an automated approach capable of determining the FE axis based on a stack of axial computer tomographic (CT) imaging slices of the distal humerus. The core of the algorithm consists of an original technique employing control polygon deformation used to approximate the segmented outer cortical bone points with closed B-Splines, followed by curvaturebased and least squares fitting methods for determination of the two relevant geometric centers. The new approach was validated against a conventional voxelbased FE axis determination procedure involving marching cubes algorithm.
