[**mood** |crushed]As some of you may or may not know, Expelliarmus RPG will be ending on a tenative date of September 15th, 2004. This date may or may not be extended depending on how long it takes for us to wrap up the end of the year plot. Applications for the game are no longer being accepted. Some of you may be upset with this. In fact, it's completely expected. Others may be resentful. Some may just want an explanation as to why and that's what will be given. As some of you may or may not have noticed already, there has been a lot of OOC drama involving one of the players who was a former moderator of Expelliarmus and us. In fact, she wasn't just that. She was the creator of the game. Ron and I were given Expelliarmus upon her resignation in hopes that we could revive Expelliarmus after it had died. A lot of things have been said during her time here, fights started, and everything else under the sun even up to and including personal attacking journal entries. Remarks showed up in our OOC community that other players noticed, to which the community would then grow deathly silent. However, in the end, this individual was a very crucial player in our end of the year plot, something that we have been working towards behind the scenes. Upon her departure, when the plot had been on the brink of reaching a conclusion and then advancing into Post-Hogwarts, it had been rendered moot and something that we couldn't just fix or change. Ron and I became rather discouraged with the game at that, along with other players, and in the end, after much discussion had ensued on what to do, figured it best to simply continue to the end of the year, go out with a bang and silently close the game, rather than try to recover a plot we could no longer run. Some may suggest just replacing her and going on regardless, but replacing this individual just for plot purposes would seem wrong, as the new player may not want to deal with it and as a character, she has left a long-lasting mark on the game. She is someone that we can't just forget about. We're also too stubborn to hand Expelliarmus, a game we love, to someone else.We hope that after this explanation, many of you will see and understand why this has come to pass. If you're angry, you're more than welcome to direct that at us. As such, with the community closing, you may do what you will with your journals and entries, either now or upon the conclusion of the game. The Expelliarmus RPG journal and Fuckwittiousa will be deleted. This does not mean everyone's hard work will be lost, or things will be forgotten however. I, Craco, am going to be taking all the logs and archiving them. I will also be sending you all each a personal email of the URL of the site and such. One thing that I ask, however, just for the sake of that, is to compile a list of twenty logs in which you deem as being your favorite. Please provide a description of what happens and the URL of the log, but avoid chosing a theatrical RP log from our shady past. XD You may post it as comments for this entry. What will happen after that is these lists will then be combined together into one huge list and the twenty 'most referred to logs' will then be posted as the 'Best Of Expelliarmus RPG' on the site. Quotes from Fuckwittiousa and hilarious journal entries will also be included, but those will be seen to after the logs have been dealt with.Addressing those who watch Expelliarmus RPG, if you are reading this, you're more than welcome to share with me your twenty favorite logs. Message Craco at SeekerPride on AIM and I'll be sure to write them all down.Thank you, all of you, even the ones who may be angry with this, for being a part of Expelliarmus RPG. It is because of all of you that this game has been great and, believe it or not, we have received a lot of praise for the portrayls of characters and such. Each and every single one of you are wonderful people and great to roleplay with. We, personally, are glad to have the opportunity to know such an excellent bunch of roleplayers. Someday in future, once Expelliarmus is long gone, we hope to have the opportunity to share a game with you once again.- Craco and Ronald McDonald. |
