Despite playing a fairly limited part in the development of the comprehensive collection of Halo games, it appears that Abstraction Games' role will be expanded in its assistance with Campaign Evolved. Rebs' report states that Abstraction will be assisting in adapting the title's gameplay to include updated elements from later games, such as the "sprint" function. Abstraction will also aid in the conceptualization and polishing of various missions, create scripted events, help design the layout of various levels, and help in the implementation of multiplayer features for the remake.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a very important title for the franchise, and Halo Studios could be wise to take an all-hands-on-deck approach to the creation of the game. Updating a widely beloved title that's nearly 25 years old to appeal to a modern audience is no small feat. The series has seen its fair share of controversy in recent years, with the divisive release of Halo Infinite leaving many fans feeling conflicted. Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries, has had a mixed reputation among the series' faithful fan base in recent years, dating back to titles like Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians. The rebranding of the studio and the transition to Unreal Engine 5 indicate a fresh approach to the franchise, and the involvement of a veteran studio like Abstraction Games will only add to the amount of quality control implemented in the game's development.

WithHalo: Campaign Evolved extending the series' reach to PlayStation fans, the tenured franchise's fan base has an unprecedented opportunity to expand. Remaking the widely adored original title is a logical effort to help reinvigorate the love and affection many players already have for the series, while also providing a modern-day entry point for those who may have missed out. With a strong pool of resources and multiple studios devoted to its development, Campaign Evolved's release will mark a major turning point for the future of Halo games.
