A lifelong Nintendo fan since the SNES era, Greysun has a particular soft spot for platformers, JRPGs, and action games that reward curiosity and exploration. He is still patiently awaiting a true sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.

During Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2026 presentation, Telltale Games fans were treated to not one, but two big announcements surrounding the much-anticipated episodic series, The Wolf Among Us. Not only is the second season finally coming in 2027, appropriately titled 'The Wolf Among Us 2,' but for those who have yet to play the first five episodes (or just want to experience the story again to catch up), season 1 is getting a remaster sometime this holiday season for all major platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.

The 30 Best Telltale Games, Ranked

The best Telltale Games titles provide players with thought-provoking narratives and interactive excellence that few other developers can match.

Originally announced in 2017 by Telltale Games and AdHoc Studio, The Wolf Among Us 2 was meant to be released way sooner than 2027, but due to creative differences and Telltale's closure, the project was initially canceled. Once Telltale Games was picked up by LCG Entertainment, the title was re-revealed in 2019 as being in active development.

With an Opencritic Score across all its episodes maintaining a strong 80 average, The Wolf Among Us was lauded not only as one of the most distinctive stories Telltale has told in video game format, but also as one of the best-written narratives from the studio. It's worth mentioning that The Wolf Among Us is based on the comic series Fables and features charactersmost would know from classic Disney movies, like Snow White and Beauty (Belle).

The Wolf Among Us 2 Trailer

While fans of The Wolf Among Us will have to wait some time to play the sequel, the remastered version of the first season will be available sometime this Holiday (no release date has been set). This means that it could come in December or even launch in February 2027. We'll most likely hear more details at Geoff Keighley's big Game Awards presentation (or hopefully, sometime before that).

As for what the remaster is changing, it will feature improved visuals, lighting, character animations, UI, accessibility enhancements, higher frame rate, and many more fancy touches to bring it into the modern era. There will also be some goodies for the diehard fans, such as bonus behind-the-scenes videos featuring the cast, image galleries, and scenes that were originally left out of the original release.

The Wolf Among Us Remaster and The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch for PS5, PC, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X and S.
