The goal of the reported research was to evaluate the machining conditions the magnetizable and n... more The goal of the reported research was to evaluate the machining conditions the magnetizable and non-magnetizable materials by the novel permanent Magnetic Assisted Ball Burnishing (MABB) tool. C45 steel, KO36 austenite steel, AA7075 aluminium and PA6 polymer materials were applied in the experiments. The main aim was to determine the optimal the technological parameters for these materials taking in consideration the hardness and roughness of the surface, too. Taguchi design of experiment methodology was applied in this study to simply look for optimal technology, compared to other kinds of technologies reported in various scientific papers. Surface quality is a complex feature that refers to the micro-geometrical characteristics of the machined surface. It includes roughness and waviness and gives a realistic picture about the top of the surface, while micro hardness and grains structure are especially important on sub-surface level. The results mirrored that all of the tested materials can be burnished by the MABB tool, however, the results from the economical viewpoints are diverse. The MABB tool was mainly designed to reduce the surface roughness but this cold metal forming process has further result like the surface hardening and further conclusions were also drawn that the MABB tool: • capable to reduce the surface of nonmagnetizable materials, too, • increases the surface hardness of C45

We investigate especially the change of the temperature regarding the tool wear. This article gives some results of the common part of the researches of the two institutes.

B... more Paper deals with research of optimal technological parameters at burnishing after hard turning. Burnishing is a less known method, when we machine the surface of workpiece with a harder tool, without chip. Experiments focus on the microgeometrical properties of workpiece, at variation of feed and burnishing force. We measured also machining force at hard turning. Workpiece was from material steel bearing, with signal 100Cr6k and hardeness HRC64.

This paper presents the results of various experimental analysis regarding a permanent Magnetic A... more This paper presents the results of various experimental analysis regarding a permanent Magnetic Assisted Ball Burnishing (MABB) tool. This type is a special tool using the magnetic field to produce the necessary force for burnishing, it is applicable especially to rolling flat and 3D harmonic surfaces. For the correct operation of this special kind of tool, the set up for optimal distance between the tool and workpiece was introduced also taking into the account the measured rolling force (Fz), which occurs between the tool and workpiece because the magnetic force pulls the rolling balls on a cone which is located at the end of the tool. In this paper the optimisation of the process parameters for burnishing of C45 normalized premachined steel is also presented. To determine the dominant machining parameters the resulted surface roughness and the tribological parameters were also anaysed. The evaluation was completed by advanced measuring and IT equipment.

Az esztergalt es koszorult feluletek rendszerint rendelkeznek sodrasossaggal, ami kepes a kenőanyagot elszallitani, mint mondjuk egy menet. Celjuk az igy kezelt feluletek sodrasossaganak a csokkentese volt. A kiertekelest cernamodszerrel es informatikai eszkozokkel vegeztek. Twist reductions by Magnetism rolling and polishing In this publication the authors present the results of their research. During the research the turned by Wiper and simple geometrical insert surfaces were polished and rolled in the magnetic field as to examine the twist structure. The machined surfaces by turning or grinding usually have twist structure on the surfaces, which can convey lubricants such as conveyor screw. The aim was to reduce the twist structure of treated surface. The evaluation was done by thread method and IT (Information Technologies) equipment.

Denomination Magnetism Aided Machining (MAM) comprises a number of relatively new industrial mach... more Denomination Magnetism Aided Machining (MAM) comprises a number of relatively new industrial machining processes (mainly finishing and surface improving) developed presently, too. MAM is effective – among others – for polishing, deburring and burnishing ofmetal parts. The magnetic force makes these processes simpler and more productive. Machining force is generated by an adjustable electromagnetic field between two magnetic poles within the working area ensuring the necessary pressure and speed difference between the tools (abrasive grains, pellets or rollers) and the workpieces. The authors give a brief outline of these modern processes. The paper summarizes the results of the experimental research carried out by the authors mainly in the field of Magnetic Abrasive Polishing (MAP) and Magnetic Abrasive Barrel Deburring (MABD).

Remained burrs on edges of the parts after metal cutting operations may cause many problems in th... more Remained burrs on edges of the parts after metal cutting operations may cause many problems in the production process and in the quality of products, therefore the burrs must be completely removed. In the paper, the authors give an outline of the elements and the technical and economical influences of the burr formation, and the characteristics of the burrs and the burr formation mechanisms. The authors present some special processes that are suitable for deburring of small pieces (e.g. Magnetic Abrasive Deburring), and a frequently applied mechanical process: power brushing. The authors have carried out many investigations regarding the magnetic abrasive deburring of small, blanked sheet metal parts, furthermore the machine deburring of large-sized metal workpieces by carbide-reinforced cylindrical brushes. The detailed conditions, data, results and conclusions of these deburring experiments are treated in the paper too.

we have recorded the point cloud of the back surface of a "mouse" with a EURO-M544 type three-coo... more we have recorded the point cloud of the back surface of a "mouse" with a EURO-M544 type three-coordinate measuring instrument equipped with a rigid probe. The measuring instrument is connected to a PC supplied with COSMOS 2.0.R Edi.3 data processing and evaluating programs. Then we have created the triangle model to the scanned points (point cloud) and the surface model with the required tolerence in the CopyCAD software of DELCAM Co. After the production of the triangle or surface model loaded intő the PowerMILL software and created the rough and smooth tool-path to automatically generated the CNC program to the NCT 2000 control of the machine-tool. After all we have produced the triangle model and surface model on a CNC machine-tool and we have maked a comparison between triangle model and surface model with a roughness measurer.

The Department of Manufacturing Engineering at the Faculty of GAMF (Kecskemét College) makes every effort to bring these two fields in harmony. The paper demonstrates some resolts of the R+D activity of the Department , which were introduced into the curriculum of studies too. Összefoglalás Az oktatás és a kutatás összhangjának megteremtése a műszaki felsőoktatás kiemeltem fontos feladata. Az összhang megteremtésére és erősítésére törekszik a Kecskeméti Főiskola GAMF Karának Gépgyártástechnológiai Szakcsoportja is. A közlemény a szakcsoport néhány, az oktatásba is bevezetett K+F eredményét mutatja be.
