Inequalities based on race, religion, ethnic identity, gender, sexual orientation, and other variables are an ongoing issue. Because women make up half of humanity and males make up the other half, gender inequality has been the most experienced sort of inequality from its inception. If this inequality, which stifles social progress, is not addressed, it may become a rising issue that undermines the world's peace, prosperity, and development levels. Gender equality is not only a human right, but it is also a prerequisite for a peaceful, developed, and sustainable planet. Gender equality is gaining importance as a component that should be included in all aspects of social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Supporting women and girls will not only maintain society's peace, prosperity, and development levels, but will also establish a solid foundation for a long-term economic model. There are several advantages for society as a whole when women hold leadership positions. Long-term societal growth depends on empowering women and guaranteeing fair opportunity for all sexual categories. Women are disproportionately affected by social issues, and career success is not prioritized as much. It is recognized that sustainable development is not possible without attaining gender equality and women's empowerment. If government policies support them, women can now contribute to the political, social, economic, and environmental domains. Given that women comprise about half of the country's population, it is imperative to provide them with the necessary authority to fully engage in all national development activities.

Due to the recent ecological global crises as a result of global climate change, humanitarian aid actors have expanded their duties to include nature and the environment. Humanitarian aid operations are applications that require transportation of aid materials to the most difficult geographies and require very resource and labor intensive. In addition to the exhaust emissions from transporting these relief supplies, these operations often result in significant environmental waste that has not been addressed in the past. It is obvious that if these environmental wastes are not managed well, they will cause new crises and emergencies in the future. Today, humanitarian aid actors have started to carry out their operations with this sensitivity and environmental awareness and have started to operate to prevent new crises that may occur in the future. In this context, the United Nations and its partner humanitarian organizations aim to reduce the negative environmental consequences of humanitarian logistics through practical guidance and real-time environmental expertise under the WREC project. This study focuses on the current state and future ways of a sustainable logistics in a humanitarian context.

Most recently, in the wake of the outbreak of war in Ukraine starting on February 24, 2022, the country's defense and security situation deteriorated rapidly, with at least 15.7 million people in urgent need of humanitarian aid and protection. It has become the fastest growing humanitarian crisis since World War II. Intense military operations have disrupted critical logistics services, causing the collapse of and massive damage to civilian infrastructure as well as casualties and injuries. The aim of this study is to first shed light on the operation of the humanitarian aid supply chain, then to take the Ukraine crisis as an example of the humanitarian aid supply chain mechanism, and to try to raise awareness about the importance of humanitarian aid actors.
