The research paper aims to build an environmentally resilient electric power system. Real coded genetic algorithm- powerful optimization technique is employed to solve the dynamic combined economic emission dispatch i.e. DCEED strategy for two proposed algorithm. The first proposed DCEED algorithm includes fuel cost of only conventional generators while in the second algorithm along with conventional generators, wind powered generators with varying power output characteristic is added. A comparative analysis of both the algorithms in terms of total combined cost, emission level and fuel cost is taken into account and it is observed that in spite of wind uncertainty the proposed method is more ec...

In level -one modeling, optimal location and sizing of electric vehicle parking lot and in level -two, EV charging modeling is proposed. Two types of charging, normal charging for charging EVs at home and rapid charging at parking lot is considered to show the impact of charging on distribution network. In level -three, solar parking lot (SPL) modeling is introduced to reduce the burden on distribution network by using SPL to grid power exchange. The proposed model is illustrated on an IEEE 33 bus distribution network with two systems. In first system, two charging levels are used to analyze the EVs charging impact in distribution network in terms of voltage violation, power losses, energy cost of individual customer and charge paid by PL without SPL. The method used was sample size of 104 (52 each group) with 41 males in SCI, 39 in HS, 11 females in SCI, and 13 in HS. A T-test was applied to statistical analysis between groups. The results showed significant differences between groups of gender, with p-value < P 0.0013, the difference (4.6115), with a 95%CI (1.8480 to 7.3750), and SE (1.3932). The SCI group noted a difference within BIA and formula calculations. In conclusion, we found the current equations inaccurate in SCI society and recommended BIA as non-invasive, speedy, portable, accessible, and cost-effective.

Market power monitoring of any given system or network is done by using market power assessment and market power indices For any given network, market power assessment is to identify which generation company (GENCO) raised their prices when the demand in the concerned area is increased. After identifying the GENCO who raised their prices, market power indices are used to indicate how much market power have been used to raise their prices. In this paper, three market power indices, relative market power (RMP), Lerner index (LI) and Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI) are used for identifying the existence of market power. The impact of load variation, price variation and random failures on market power has been investigated by performing three experiments. These experiments were conducted using MATPOWER, which simulates a full AC network with IEEE 30 bus system, six of which are generators.

The transmission capacity limits have a significant impact on market cost, therefore these limits should also be considered while optimizing the joint dispatch. In this paper, a detailed comparison of classical differential evolution (DE) mutation strategies is carried out to study the role of tuning parameters. For avoiding the time and labor lost in tuning DE parameters, an improved DE algorithm with time varying chaotic mutation and crossover is proposed for solving the multi-product, multi-area market dispatch problem with physical and operational constraints. The proposed approach effectively handles the complex constraints like reserve requirements, zonal power balance constraints, area spinning reserve constraints, tie-line constraints and reserve and capacity coupling constraints. The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed algorithm is tested on two different test systems and is found to be better than classical DE in terms of convergence behavior and solution quality.

Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm has been applied to speed up the training of the multi-layer feed-forward neural network. To select the effective inputs for the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm based artificial neural network (LMANN), an unsupervised vector quantization based clustering technique has been applied. Effectiveness of the proposed LMANN based approach for nodal price prediction has been demonstrated on benchmark 6-bus system and RTS 24-bus system. Since the training of artificial neural network is extremely fast and test results are accurate, they can be directly floated to OASIS (open access same time information system) web site. To minimize the use of conventional generators, solar thermal power plant (STPP) is proposed in this paper. An approach for optimal location of STPP is also proposed in this paper. To minimize the fuel cost, firstly unit commitment (UC) is applied in conventional generators. Then genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the fuel cost of committed generators. The suggested method is tested on an IEEE 14 bus test system for 24 hr. schedule with variable load. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is illustrated in three cases. Case 1 is used to identify the STPP location to reduce the fuel cost of conventional generator. In Case 2, unit-commitment is applied to save considerable fuel input and cost. In order to optimize the committed fuel cost, a genetic algorithm is applied in Case 3.

Both type of load active and reactive are increases in the system and sometime even causes black out. In this paper Stability margin at critical value under maximum loading limit are analysed by using continuous power flow method. Maximum loading limit at each load bus are applied and their effects on voltage variation and power factor are analysed in detail to improve the stability problem. Once the stability margin under maximum loading limits are calculated it would be easier to control the load before reaching to critical point and system would not collapse.

This paper also investigates that how electric vehicle charging station could impact the electric distribution network by analyzing active loss, reactive loss, power flow through transmission line and voltage deviation. The methodology used in this paper evaluates the maximum utilization of primary energy resources, considering all the operating constraints and stability of Distribution network. The optimal location and capacity of charging stations are investigated in different case studies in which we analyze impact of single charging station and three charging station with different capacities in distribution network. In case studies, an IEEE 33 Node Distribution network is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model.
