This research had as main objective the knowledge of communication processes effectuated by resid... more This research had as main objective the knowledge of communication processes effectuated by residents of the Terra Firme's region in their struggles to guarantee the social right to dignity housing, a constitutional right. A case study was carried out about the trajectory of five people who are fighting or fought for the guarantee of their own home in Terra Firme as well as public services complementary to living with dignity, particularly on the Curtume Santo Antônio and Liberdade III Housing Complexes. The problem question of this research was focused on the constitution of the communication processes of these five subjects to guarantee the right to housing and living in a decent way. Semi-structured dialogues were conducted with them. In accordance with the theoretical contributions of 1970 and Morin (2003), the main outcome of the research was the understanding that despite a context of notable difficulties in articulating the community, the residents' communication processes are marked above all by persistence in association and civic action in search of the right to housing and to live with dignity. The meaning that has been established in their communication processes it is the social rights as an achievement of the community as well the duty of the government as a goal to be effectively fulfilled from its mobilizations.
