The study sought to investigate whether the social development of the young adults (in the form o... more The study sought to investigate whether the social development of the young adults (in the form of resilience) is more closely related to single parents or the upbringing of both parents and how the nonappearance of 1 of the 2 parentages can affect these imperative aspects. Young adults from sole mother or father and intact households, both 320 boys and girls, 160 young adults from broken setups, and 160 young adults from happy families were selected through a convenient sampling technique from different educational institutes. This study adopted the quantitative research design and method of the survey to gather information. The structured Resilience Scale (RS) was used to gather data. A noteworthy variance was seen in young adults ‘resilience with single and both parents. There was a significant difference found between age, and resilience and even between education and resilience. There was no important change visible in the order of birth between young adults with both parents, ...

The direct contact of the paramedical staff with the patients and the significant risk of getting... more The direct contact of the paramedical staff with the patients and the significant risk of getting an infection during the Covid-19 outbreak make their job more stressful. The current study aims to measure the prevalence of stress levels among the paramedical staff members during the Covid-19 pandemic. Paramedical staff working in the hospitals of Punjab province, Pakistan, aged 25 to 40 were respondents of the study. A sample of 312 paramedical staff members was taken through a snowball sampling technique because of the web-based survey. The data was collected through a questionnaire on an online platform. The questionnaire link was distributed among the paramedical staff workers of different public hospitals to record the demographic information and stress on Covid-19 Perceived stress scale (PSS-10-C). SPSS 26 was used to analyze the data, and the association between the variables was computed using Chi-Square. The mean difference among the independent variables showing the stress was calculated with the help of a ttest and ANOVA. Demographic factors like gender, family type, occupational category, and individual family income were significantly associated with the level of stress. The identified results indicated the need for stress management programs at the hospital level aimed at paramedical staff.

Patriarchy is a social structure that favours male domination in the family. A set of social rela... more Patriarchy is a social structure that favours male domination in the family. A set of social relations based on the hierarchical structure creates a sense of dependency and subjugation among women. The current research aimed to explore the characters within the family settings that are not only the facilitators but also works as a support to Domestic Violence that facilitates the patriarchal form to sustain that keeps the power nexus in the hands of male intact. The universe was confined to district Rawalpindi with a population comprised of married men and women and their mothers. Twenty women for interviews and 13 respondents (male and mothers-in-law) for 2 FGDs were identified through purposive sampling. The present research employed an inductive approach of thematic analysis. The researchers identified that domestic Violence was prevailing in its different forms through data analysis, where physical and psychological Violence were the most prevalent forms. It was also analysed that the mother-in-law of a female was the basis to help sustain Patriarchy. It was also seen that the women's socialization and resocialization at her family level through the mother of woman also helps to sustain Patriarchy and the power in the hand of male of society. The current research concluded that women play an important role in the inculcation of Patriarchy in the family to preserve their authority and control over other women.

The study will help in the development of relevant sustainability policies. ABSTRACT Punjab is one of the fertile provinces of Pakistan but poverty is prevailing especially in its rural areas. The main reasons for poverty in these areas include the lack of planning as well as implementation of policies. The present study was conducted in district Layyah, Punjab to investigate the sustainability of rural livelihoods among the small farmers. The results show that a majority of the respondents (68.33%) had their own land and 98 percent of the respondents had a farm. 41.66% were farming on the current farm for a period of 11-15 years. During this study, it was found that 87% respondents had electricity available for farming activities and 74.33 percent of respondents were using canal water to irrigate their land. A majority of the respondents (37.66%) were holding 1.1-2 ha of land and performing cultivation activities. As far as active membership of a community organization is concerned, about two thirds (65%) of the respondents held active membership in a community organization via different non-government organizations. After taking into account livestock and farming; 100 percent respondents told that they possessed these assets as their primary financial capital because the area was rural in nature and the targeted respondents were farmers by occupation. Agriculture loans were also found to be a source of income for a majority (61.66%) of the respondents. The findings of this study will be helpful for policy makers to develop policies that correspond to the realities of farming in the region.
