In so doing, his study brings rich contemporary research narrative as evidence of the key elements of the participatory revisioning of transpersonal theory. In this article the author reports parts of the results and conclusions of an intuitive inquiry that explored the peak experiences, plateau experiences, and consequent transpersonal growth of nine classically trained singers, including the researcher, and one advanced practitioner of sacred chant. All participants had had significant transpersonal experiences through singing, as they engaged in a participatory, connected, and often passionate knowing that involved not only the opening of the mind, but also of the body, heart, and soul in relationship with a community and connection with their environment.

tacit and intuitive understanding of the research findings to synthesise and portray these
findings through a creative medium. In this short paper and accompanied photo-reverie, the
author demonstrates how he used a creative synthesis in an intuitive inquiry to portray the
inner dimensions of his research into the transpersonal implications of singing.

It consists of five iterative cycles of inquiry. It seeks to bring the researcher's inner being into the research process by placing the research squarely in the context of the researcher's personal growth. I used it to explore a deeply personal process of individuation that I had been through, the process of transpersonal (in layman's terms psycho-spiritual) experience and growth that occurs during classical singing training. In this case study, I show how I applied intuitive inquiry to a study that explored my own experience of the transpersonal implications of singing (the research topic) in parallel to, and in order to, more deeply understand the experience of other singers (my participants). I focus on demonstrating the evolution of the inner and intuitive side of the inquiry and how it shed light on the more mainstream and empirical narrative evidence collected.

At the same time brutal war, genocide, famine, rampant corruption, and ethnic violence remain fresh in African memories and current affairs. Understanding and navigating this complex business environment falls on business leaders who are often ill equipped to deal with, transcend, and heal trauma and ethnic conflict on personal and societal levels. Applied Personal Transformation (APT) was an elective course teaching integral and transpersonal developmental psychologies on the 2013 doctoral programme of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). To our knowledge APT was the first time that integral and transpersonal developmental theory had been taught at a business school in South Africa. Our goal was to create a conceptual and experiential framework that would introduce African leaders to a meta-view of the human narrative, that enable them to stand outside of their day to day perceptions and interactions, and better cope with the complexities they currently face. In this paper we reflect on the influence of teaching integral and transpersonal developmental theory and practice on leadership in Africa, through examining thinking and changes reported by students at the time of running the course, and six months completion. Our findings support the case for the inclusion of developmental thinking in leadership education.
