These easy Smoked Bacon Slices are the best way to cook thick-cut bacon on your pellet grill, delivering bold smoky flavor without the mess—perfect for breakfast, meal prep or topping smoked burgers.

Traeger Bacon on smoker

I promise you, using your smoker will get you the best bacon! It’s so simple to let your electric smoker do all the work with this easy smoked bacon. You’ll love the ease and the smokey taste this bacon brings to many different dishes like a Grilled Caesar Salad. Thick cut bacon cooks evenly and you don’t have to worry about the slices falling through the grates, so I recommend using it for the best success and maximum flavor when smoking bacon.

  1. Start by preheating your smoker to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray with a non-stick spray so that the bacon doesn’t stick once applied.
  2. Place the bacon directly on the grate and cook for 30 minutes. Make certain that you keep on eye on it near the end as you don’t want to miss the mark and overcook it! Crispy bacon is good but burnt bacon is not.

Pro Tips

After the smoked bacon has rested on a wire rack or a paper towel lined baking sheet to remove some of the grease, store it in an airtight container or zip top bag in the fridge for easy access throughout the week.

We would recommend hickory pellets to give your bacon a wonderful flavor because it’s stronger and you are only smoking the bacon for 30 minutes.

It might seem like a good idea for containing grease but if you cover the grill grates, the smoke won’t be able to really penetrate the whole slice of bacon.

We love serving crispy smoked bacon alongside our light, fluffy pancakes hot off the Blackstone, our Smoked Cinnamon Rolls or Grilled Blueberry French Toast (you can bake this too or cook it on the smoker).

Smoked bacon is the best in a classic BLT sandwich, on burgers and in salads, too.
