x86 version not working with VLC x86 on Win11 x64 (original) (raw)
Hi, for some reason the x86 of these dlls does not get picked up by the x86 version of VLC on a x64 install of windows (did not try on a x86 install).
When I use the x64 ones with the x64 version of VLC instead it works just fine. Hence why I'm going to report it here and not over at VLC.
Could you please investigate? VLC behaves as if they were not present at all.
Steps to reproduce:
- Install latest Win11 x64 (Version 24H2 OS Build 26100.7462 as of time of writing)
- Install VLC x86 (https://get.videolan.org/vlc/3.0.21/win32/vlc-3.0.21-win32.exe as of time of writing)
- Download latest libaacs and libbdplus from this repos release section. (https://github.com/KnugiHK/libaacs-libbdplus-windows/releases/tag/0.11.1-0.2.0 as of time of writing)
- Place
win86/libaacs.dllandwin86/libbdplus.dllintoC:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLan\VLC. - Put an ISO of a BluRay into a virtual drive (e.g. double click it to have windows mount it)
- Open VLC and go to
Media > Open Disc...select Blu-ray, tick "no disc menus", and pick the correct drive in the "disc device" dropdown. - Hit the "Play" button.
- ====>>>> Observe VLC showing the the libaacs.dll is missing error message.
