Hello, I thought it would allow tmxrasterizer to be used more dynamically to offer options to hide/show objects.

Is it a feature you needed? Looks like a fine addition, in any case!

Please let me know if this is okay for you. Do I need to edit any translation files / doc files to contribute this?

I usually update the translation files 1-2 weeks before making a release. However, at the moment translations are not loaded for this tool.
