go_greek (original) (raw)

99% of the main website is finished. I still need to work on the main game NPCs and my own character.

I will be sure to post a link up here, as well as in several other areas, once the game is open! Stay tuned!

Currently, the website's layout has been completed. However, many sections still need revisions and I still need to finish typing up profiles for the two major NPCs and my own character. Because of this, and the fact that I find I am devoid of all energy after moving out of Columbus, I'm going to make the opening date a more sketchy "Sometime This Week, June, 2006".

It's less than a week away from the schedueled opening of Go Greek! Mythos. I'm going to try to make the deadline that I had set. The past few days have been spent writing up extensive information on setting and writing and re-writing and re-writing Amphitrite's personality.
The upcoming week is finals week, and although I am finished with finals on Tuesday, I've got a great deal of studying to do and I'll also be wanting to spend time offline with my boyfriend and my friends, since I'll be leaving Columbus for an extended period of time. So, I'm not going to be able to focus solely on completing the game's information.

Here's What's Left to Do:
Places to Go
SailorGeras
SailorAmphitrite
Compile a helpful link list
Website layout (already have one in mind, but waiting on my boyfriend to finish the main graphic for it so I can actually design it all)

Pandoras
Alpha Mu Omega characters are able to unleash powerful monsters called Pandoras to cause trouble and property damage. Pandoras come from old (Greecian-style) urns and jars that Rage supplies. To unleash a Pandora, the jar or urn must be opened in some way; usually, this is accomplished by tossing the jar and breaking it or removing the lid. The contents of the urn mold themselves to the heart and power of its user, so each Alpha Mu Omega has a different Pandora (but no AMO has more than one Pandora).
Once released from their jars, Pandora take on a form that reflects their master's Sphere of Influence (a Poiseidon may command horses or tritons while an Ares may command soldier-like men). Low-level Pandora are stupid and relatively weak and easy to defeat. However, they gain power as their masters gain power. When they do become stronger, their appearances generally change, too.
Pandoras are loyal only to their master, and will never disobey.

NOTE Any person applying for an Alpha Mu Omega should spend some time developing their character's Pandora. Because of the addition of the Pandora, some changes will be made to the Alpha Mu Omega character application. These changes will be posted up here if they are finished long before the game's opening date.

For anyone who would like to get started on an app, I'm posting up both the Alpha Mu Omega application and the MYTHOS/other application.
I'm actually adding a sub-page (to the main page) that's a complete "application guide" to help you along if you're new to this RPG thing and are totally lost. Please keep in mind that this game is NOT meant to be taxing and time consuming. Applications don't have to be super long for them to be accepted.

( Alpha Mu Omega Character ApplicationCollapse )

Please understand that there are no reserves or automatic acceptances before a full application is recieved. You may let me know that you have interest in a character, but that won't guarantee you a spot in the game. It's entirely likely that one or two other people may be trying for the same name.

When picking, please focus on the elements listed in parenthesis (they're listed in order of importance). If you want to branch out to other elements, that's fine as well, but keep it relevant.
Also, it's up to you which side your character is on MYTHOS, AMO or something else. There's no predefined list of people who go in one group and people who go in another.

( Mythological Name ListingCollapse )

Definitely taken characters are:
Sailor Geras. Advisor to the Sailor Soldiers. (NPC)
Sailor Amphitrite (sea creatures) (My Character)

GO GREEK! Mythos is similar to, but not the same as Mythos Soldiers/Mythos Senshi. Some things are the same, but there are more differences. It should not be considered an attempt to "bring back Mythos" so much as opening a new sailormoon RPG.
Because of this, the cast list was wiped completely clean (as of right now, I'm not even playing Eos any more and Mater no longer exists). Names were removed and added from a list of playable mythological names, and there are no predefined "alignments" for character--it's up for you to pick whether Zeus is reborn, a remnant, or a "zombie" when you fill out her/his character profile.

If you are interested in joining, please reapply! All applications recieved will undergo a review process by one person (me), no spots will be reserved and no one will receive an easier/harder review because of who they are, but I don't want that to sound like the review process is harsh--quite the contrary.
Mythos's story calls for a large, diverse cast of characters, and that can only be accomplished by a large, diverse group of players.
Mythos's mission is to bring people together to participate in the game in any way they like (this will be explained on the main page).

That being said, maybe the game's name should be changed to Mythos Wii at the last minute?
Also, Solid Snake and Metaknight will be making an appearance.
Not really.

Information
This game is NOT a journal game.

Characters may, if they want, start IC journals, which will be run quite like a normal person would run their own journal--no PBs, no strikethroughs.
The primary logging styles are: IM, Chat, Email, Livejournal, whatever gets your log done.
Logs may be written in first, second or third person, in past or present tense or in script format.
Logs are not necessary for everything
This game runs off of timelines. Each character has an individual timeline (which should be listed on their page once they are accepted), and the main page will have a large timeline for important events. Not every event marked on a timeline needs to have logs, just important ones (this will also be detailed on the main page).
This is not a slash/smut/yuri/yaoi/hentai game.
This game is rated R for vulgarity, violence, possible drinking/drug use depiction, and insinuated sex

Forgive the poor quality and size.

Basic Female (Sailor Soldier) Uniform.
Basic Male (Hoplite) Uniform. Guidelines for with Diagrams of (Basic) Alpha Mu Omega Uniform for Both Genders.

A note on deviation:
Minor additions, subtractions and changes are acceptable and encouraged. Don't deviate so much that your character ends up looking like they don't belong within their group.
Keep it Greek.
Any questions regarding specifics should be asked directly to me.
