Younha Talks About Her Comeback

Solo singer Younha became a platinum blonde for her upcoming single album “One Shot.” The album will be released on the 14th but teaser photos are already out.

Younha said, “I went for a transformation so I could leave a strong impression after a long absence. I know that to some people it seems like I’m weak because I fainted in the beginning of the year, so I wanted to change that image.”

After she fainted in January, her health condition became quite a serious issue. At one point, she weighed only 83 lbs (38kg). Younha had to rest for almost two months and cut back on her music program performances of “We Broke Up Today.”

She said about the whole experience, “I was watching music programs at the hospital and I cried. I had finally gained some recognition with good music. I was sorry to my manager. It was a hard time mentally for me.”

She added, “After my jacket photos were released, a lot of people commented ‘Is she going for this look?’ I thought to myself, ‘I didn’t do it for no reason.’ I want to show them that there’s more than what meets the eye. The music and the costumes are very experimental.”

She said, “It’s like how the ground dries up after the rain has come. I’ve become closer with my staff. I have a feeling I can do well again. I think being sick did have some benefits.”

She finished off by saying, “I can’t force my music on people. I will work hard but it’s important to have people naturally listen to your music rather than force it on them.”

Hey guys! I wrote English lyrics to Younha's "Audition- Time2Rock" a while back, and I finally got someone to sing it for me. Here it is for your listening pleasure:

(Lyrics by me (Kotoba xx) and vocals by Dunnderling)

Please let me know what you think :)

I actually wrote this song for one of the characters in a story I'm writing about the Japanese idols (One of the characters is a young aspiring Korean singer who comes to Japan- her story obviously inspired by Younha's experiences in real life.) If you would like to check that out, please feel free to click here

Younha is going to be on tomorrows episode of SBS Strong Heart (which is also the Chuseok Special). The official pictures that SBS just released are too pretty to not share, so here. :)

And in other news, Younha is going to have a concert tour in Korea, and the dates are as follows:

I've written English lyrics to Younha's 2007 Korean debut single "Audition Time2Rock, and I'm looking for someone who would be willing to sing them for me because I love this song to pieces, but I can't carry a tune to save my life.

Although I tended to stray from the direct translation of the original lyrics, partly because I'm writing this for a character in a story I'm writing), I feel like I still captured the general message of the song pretty well.

Here is a demo (with my extremely atrocious vocals, ONLY so that you can get a feel of how the lyrics flow, and definitely NOT because I should actually be singing this song)

( Follow me to Demo and Lyrics!Collapse )

Hey everyone! I'm currently working on a story which revolves around the Japanese entertainment industry. One of the main characters, an aspiring singer named Jae is based on Younha. Some of the key elements of her story are actually based on what Younha herself went through to achieve stardom as a Korean-turned J-Pop singer. Here's a little blurb that describes the premise of the story:

"There's a thin line between chasing your dreams and being selfish. Have I just crossed the line?" Three aspiring celebrities who face their own unique struggles as they experience the dark underbelly of the Japanese entertainment industry. Jae, a young Korean born to a musically inclined family, has been stifled by her parents' overbearing musical preferences, and finally decides to try her hand at breaking into the K-pop industry, only to be brutally rejected. Has she reached a dead end? Hiro, an underworked actor struggles to find work where he can, and despite his optimistic outlook he can feel the beginnings of regret stirring in his heart. Will he turn his back on the career he once pursued with passion? Azami, the veteran of the idol industry at the tender age of twelve, feels like the smile that's been plastered on her face day in and day out is wearing out. Is her mask about to crack? Follow these three as their paths intertwine, pulled by the strings of fate.

Each chapter of this story features a different perspective (Ex: chapter 1 is in Jae's perspective, Chapter 2 is in Hiro's perspective, and Chapter 3 in Azami's perspective) and this ongoing series has six chapters currently posted, two of which are in Hiro's perspective and focus on his experiences.
