I just Have to Know About . . . (original) (raw)
I hope everyone is sufficiently stuffed with Holiday foods and is now lazing on the couch :)
Now for my quick little bit:
If you are sexually active -- and I hope most people are -- make it a goal this year to get tested. If you're in a monogamous relationship where ya both started out as virgins, I'm not talking to you, go back to eating your pumpking pie.
For everyone else . . . get tested. Yeah, yeah, it's not the most fun thing in the world, I know, but it's the responsible thing to do. There are so many nasty little bugs out there that are easily treated by a good dose of antibiotics, but if left untreated can lead to serious infertility problems plus just general uckiness (do I NEED to go into what happens if you leave the syph untreated?)
So yeah, start the new year off healthy.
And now for my more entertaining little bit:
Masturbation.
How often do you do it? What are your thoughts?
Me, two times a week, sometimes more if I'm not getting any sack action with my partner.
I am a huge proponent of masturbation, for several reasons:
1. Safe sex. Safe sex. Safe sex.
2. If you don't know what turns YOU on, how are you supposed to communicate it to a partner.
I don't know too many guys who haven't masturbated, but I'm continually shocked by the number of women I still hear say "Oh GOD no -- it's so icky and . . . gross."
To me, there is nothing icky or gross about it. While many guys can get off in the normal way (up, down, up, down, wash, rinse, repeat) the female orgasm can be a wily and tricky affair. So practice at it, and practice alot.
I think it's a damn shame that Joycelyn Elders, former Surgeon General, actually LOST HER JOB for being a proponent for masturbation.
So let's get it out in the open, try it (if you aren't actually doing it already), and have a little safe fun.
