This May, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) observed several strong Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). The solar flares created a massive solar storm, which resulted in auroras that were seen even in the southern U.S. Citizen scientists contributed photos, which will add to the information for researchers.
