Towels Optional [24 Apr 2005|09:15pm]
I'd like to coordinate a gr0up trip to see The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Edit: It appears that people generally want to go next weekend. Sometime that weekend will be my second move-in of the month and I will probably be starting my new job, so I don't know when I'll be available, but I think next week will still be good. I'm in favor of a matinee. Leave a comment here if you're interested in going. I agree that B^3 should take social priority this weekend so that we can see each other before the end of the semester.

Brownies, Booze, and Board Games [24 Apr 2005|03:35pm]
Hello, Gr0up. I want to propose an evening of fun at 341 S. Bouquet street -- a Brownies, Booze, and Board Games Bash! Just a mellow setting where we can hang out, have a beer or two, make chocolatey brownies, and play some games. I've purchased one package of Brownies to make, but otherwise, BYOB (Bring your own Brownies/Booze/oh, and Board Games, too). A great way to celebrate the end of finals and beginning of a beautiful summer! So, if you're interested, please let me know what night is better for you -- this Friday or Saturday. I'd prefer Friday, myself. I apologize if some of you can't make it due to moving, sisters returning from Italy, etc. But I thought I'd throw this idea out...

cmu carnival [15 Apr 2005|05:08pm]
[ **mood** | happy ] Now I know I'm not an early person but from freshman year, I remember this was the shit. Does anyone want to meet up at the towers or something at like 1pm and walk on over to CMU for the carnival? It's a lot of fun! And cheap and alcohol-free! And probably less crowded during the day time, plus the weather is nice. It's guranteed fun and the low, low price of cheap or free.Anyone?

Graffiti Party stuff (again) [25 Feb 2005|06:44pm]
[ **mood** | busy ] Sooo, it would be very very very nice and totally awesome if those of you attending our Graffiti Party Saturday night could bring some sort of food/beverage contibution -- snacks, soda, booze -- because we're not going to be providing these things. (Do you know how much money we spend on these parties?)So, yeah. Bring some pretzels or Doritos along with your white boxers and tees. And we'll see you under the black lights!

[23 Feb 2005|02:40pm]
[ **mood** | excited ] So the new Newtype in Japan featured one page about the new season of FMP, Full Metal Panic! ~ The Second Raid. For those that don't know, this is another serious season that looks to be of the same animation quality as the first. I was hoping that one of you Japanese speakers out there could tell me what it says. I don't care about spoilers because I already know the story. Also, once a series is released in Japan, how long does it take for the fansubbers to get it to America? Thanks for any help you can give me! ( HereCollapse )

Attentions, pleese. [22 Jan 2005|03:12pm]
[ **mood** | tired ] There will be a dinner & a movie night tonight, beginning at 9pm at the ladies' apartment. Sarah Pink will be cooking up some sort of noodle dish, and maybe something with potatoes. All are welcome! And you can bring some food donation, if so you desire, but it's not necessary, methinks. Maybe a snack for a movie? As for the movie part of the evening -- it is a mystery to be unveiled during our dinner. We shall decide what we're watching and where we're watching it. The "where" may be the apartment (if only a few people show up), a Tower C lounge, or elsewhere at Pitt or even CMU (if they're showing interesting movies...).If you've got the time, please call Pink to let her know if you're coming, so she can make enough noodles (although there is plenty of last-minute food if we've got stragglers -- I've got lots of Oriental-flavored Ramen, for example).

I am soliciting book recommendations based on all of your favorite books. I'd prefer fiction and I don't care about genre or anything like that, just something that you liked reading. I intend to read a lot over winter break and I have all of Carnegie Library at my disposal. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Otherwise, have a nice winter break and happy holidays. ^_^

party [03 Dec 2004|10:26pm]
[ **mood** | hopeful ] So it's the end of the semester and we're about the hit finals week. Well, I'm not, but all of you are! Anyway, on Friday December 10th we're having a party. It's at the girls' apartment starting around 9pm. You all should know where that's at by now or know someone who does because I'm not posting that address on here. Anyway, think of this as the last time to see everyone together before break, the last time to really chill with everyone before finals, and a great chance to hang out under the chirstmas lights! So anyway we'd appreciate a food or drink contribution. Anyway it'll be a crazy good time and I expect to see you there! So come!

Waitasecond... [02 Dec 2004|09:59am]
[ **mood** | warm! ] All this talk of Pink Floyd... is anyone still interested in Finding Neverland Friday night? I was originally just going to go with Rose and possibly my cousin, so no biggie if you've changed your mind. Erin was so dreadfully excited to see FN, though, so I thought I'd ask.^_^

Laser Floyd Update [02 Dec 2004|03:29am]
[ **mood** | peaceful ] OK, kids... here's what I have on the Floyd trip:Buses are pretty scarce around that time of nite. The best I can come up with is we can catch the 501 at about 10:45 along Fifth Avenue. It will drop us off a ways off from the Science Center (we'll pretty much have to cross both stadium parking lots). Now for the bad news. The bus from which we will have just disembarked is the last run of that bus for the evening. As best I can tell, there are no more direct routes between Oakland and the North Shore after that time.We have several options:1. Cross the Ft. Duquesne Bridge to Gateway Center and there await a bus to Oakland.2. I believe Sarah Blue mentioned splitting a cab.3. We get volunteers to drive.Options 2 and 3 may be problematic in that at last count we have about ten people going. We would need two cars (parking at CSC is free) for #3 to work, and I'm not sure what the capacity of your run-of-the-mill taxi van is, but I bet it is less than 11.FYI: According to weather.com, the low on Friday is going to be a balmy 34 degrees.Questions? Comments? Derogatory Statements?

To Catch You Stragglers [28 Oct 2004|12:08am]
[ **mood** | sleepy ] I had a good reason for not posting this to gr0up before... I'm just not sure what it was. There will be a celebration this Saturday at our place starting somewhere around 7-8 or so. Most people I've talked to said they will be in costume, but it is in no way mandatory that costumes be worn (take that any way you like, folks).Current plans include watching two movies: Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn and another yet-to-be-determined title. Current Suggestions include:Dementia 13 Frozen Alive The Screaming Skull Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter The Atomic Brain The Brain That Wouldn't Die Carnival of Souls Night Tide(These all come from the AMC Monsterfest collections that Ben and Green brought over)Bram Stoker's Dracula Sleepy Hollow From Hell _The Exorcist_Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Leave a note or get ahold of one of us.That is all.

Fright Night at Kennywood [14 Oct 2004|10:39am]
So, those of you interested in Fright Night at Kennywood Friday night, I got an email from CESA (who we're going with) to meet in front of WPU at 6:30pm. They also mentioned getting coupons for a few bucks off from Blockbuster. Anyway, I'm not sure what the transportation plan is... we may meet at WPU and find out there are TONS of us, and hit up a bus that goes to Kennywood (Juice knows all about these, apparently... or else he better). You are ALL invited! We'll be attending with a group of awesome people from CESA, so if you feel uncomfortable with the wackiness that is Gr0up (which I admit to feeling once in a while), you should still come along! We'll probably split off into smaller groups anyway. And Rose told me to DEFINITELY check out Noah's Ark!PS: Tickets are around $15, group rates may be cheaper. Park open from 7pm to 1am.
