Regulation has widely been considered as an appropriate way to resolve regulatory conflicts in e-commerce. A multitude of surveys have investigated privacy attitudes, revealing a general desire among Internet users to protect their privacy. This paper concentrates on the tension between e-commerce, privacy concerns, and user behavior in Austria with a special focus on the detection of demographic attributes that influence users' perception of privacy issues. The authors present both a conceptual framework and empirical findings pertaining to privacy awareness and user behavior. Our results show that the willingness to provide personal data over the Internet to a certain extent depends on (socio-) demographic characteristics such as gender, knowledge, and experience.

The focus of the project is to analyze customer perceptions towards Mobile Java Games and to identify gaps in Mobile Java Games research. A major finding is that transaction data typically collected by Mobile Service Providers can deliver only limited explanations on customer behavior. Thus, the existing information should be enriched by additional data such as consumer surveys and market research. This would enable firms to improve their market strategies.

Recently, new specifications and technical innovations based on Internet Protocols utilizing standard cellular packet data bearers have been introduced. This new approach makes Push to Talk a standard service on any cellular network which is called Push over Cellular (PoC). This paper identifies a model of PTT adoption in the Austrian market. The first explorative phase of research, consisting of interviews with experts and focus groups builds the basis of the proposed framework and measurement model. A structural equation modeling (SEM) approach is used to assess the relative importance and the strength between different constructs, including enjoyment, social norm, usefulness, ease of use, intention to use, and quality of the service. Our results indicate that enjoyment and social norm are important antecedents for the adoption of PTT in Austria.
