So after reading a lot of Captain America/Darcy Lewis/Winter Soldier porn, I feel like I've discovered a new fanfic trope (probably just new to me), that of Soulmate markings. These seem to come in many different forms, but suffice it to say, tattoo-like markings appear on a person's skin at some point that will lead them to the person/people with whom they are meant to share their lives. I've seen a couple of these in The Hobbit fandom, but not many. None in Sherlolly - though everyone should be writing me Sherlolly fanfic, just sayin' - and it made me wonder how my favourite LXG characters would change or adapt to this constant being thrown into their lives. For the ones who had been hurt, abused, or traumatized, would the idea of an actual Soulmate be something to cling to or blame? For anyone, would that person/s be an anchor, a crutch, an unattainable ideal, someone to ignore or someone to surround in fantasy?

This is my first attempt in using Soulmate markings. In this story I'm going on the idea that your Soulmate's first words to you are what's on your skin. In future efforts I think I'll stick to the person/s name/s. This is the first bit of fanfic I've written in almost two years I think, the idea wouldn't leave me alone!

A/N: Inspired by au_abc, I wrote this little piece while hiding away in Clarenville for two weeks doing little more than watching Netflix (I was channeling Veronica from "Better off Ted") and surviving the humidity. Oh and I bought boots! In my head Huck has already met Tabitha, a sweet down to earth girl far removed from this usual line of fame hungry, cut throat women he's used to photographing. Thus, when Mina hands over the portfolio, he feels like he's somehow been duped.

So I'm thinking of writing some Ultimates!Scarlet Witch-centric, movie!Tony Stark/Pepper Potts/Bruce Banner stuff for this.
Also, for the last few months I've been involved with a big bang--my first--where I'm writing a Hestia-centric Hestia/Poseidon fic that will probably be more than 10k when I'm done with it.

Just wanted to pop in and say I'm still around and I've started writing again. This year has been hard but I have goals and want to meet them (oh Secretary will you ever be finished???).

A/N: Yes, the last chapter may have seemed like a lot of filler—sometimes it did to me too—but it was needed. There were things mentioned, people brought up—work with me, ok! It was needed! . . .In my opinion. Also, I'm going to be posting an entire cast list when this is all finished, but it may make a clearer picture if you know that Will is played by Denis Leary, Eddie is Steve Buscemi, and Heath is David Thewlis. Just in my head of course. Yes. Just in my head. The Times article I mention was published January 31, 1900. William Goebel was a Democrat who had a reputation for supporting African Americans, women, and trade unions. He was shot after a controversial election where the Republican candidate was accused of ballot rigging.

But it Tabitha's story and it has to unravel in a certain way. I guess I'll just have to imagine that someday someone may like to write a snippet about how Huck felt agreeing to take Mina's blood in order to heal after being shot. So this year has been completely lacking in literary efforts. Reason being is that on the whole 2010 has not been a great year and I haven't had the energy/creativity/required sexiness to write anything warranting posting. HOWEVER things have changed and there will be stories coming in the very near future. I've returned to my book of personal HP challenges--for you fans of my Harry Potter fics--and am half-way through a Scorpius centered story. Also, I recently submitted my story for this years smutty_claus exchange, so when the reveals are made that will be posted here as well.

I desperately want to get back at The Roommate Diaries and The Adventures of a Secretary but I'm not going to pressure myself; it's been a long time so small steps LOL
