It's Spooky Time!!!

Welcome to the October Event! Here your Grems will participate in autumn/Halloween themed seasonal prompts which will be released weekly!! Prepare yourselves, for October holds many special plans that await to either chill you with spooky vibes or dress you in orange and falling leaves! Get ready for a festive time this month crafted especially for you, your friends, and of course, Grems! Thank you for being a part of Gremcorps and we hope you all enjoy the Event!

The event will take place throughout the entire month of October, each week consisting of different themes.

~Week 1~
Pumpkin Carving (Deadline on the 7th 11PM EST)

Draw your grem starting off the festive October season with some lighthearted pumpkin carving fun! What will your grem carve into their pumpkin this year? Show us how creative and artistic your grems can be! Remember that the more that carve together, the merrier!

~Week 2~
Costume Making/ Wearing (Deadline on the 15th 11PM EST)

This week will be dedicated to the creation and test out of your grems halloween costume for the end of the month! Draw your grem's creatives processes and show off that awesome costume to or with others!

~Week 3~

SPOOKY TIME !!! (Deadline on the 23rd 11PM EST)

The third week will be more of a grab bag of options for your grem to do! For this prompt, your grem will be embracing the spookiness of October, grems will be partaking in scary pre-halloween activities to get themselves into the groove of the halloween spirit!

To get a good idea of what your grem could do for this prompt, here are a list of options you could choose from:

-Investigating Haunted Houses
-Scary Movie Marathon with Friends
-Hunting for cryptid creatures/ Ghosts in the Dark
-Graveyard Exploration
-Scary Movie Scene Re-enactments

You are able to deviate from the options if you have an idea of your own! But make sure it has to do with something scary and halloween related! Have a spooky time everyone~

~Week 4~

THE LAST AND FINAL PROMPT OF THE SEASON!!!!

🎃=IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOUR GREM IS IN COSTUME FOR THIS ROUND=🎃

October is almost at the end of its run! But it wouldn't be a true halloween month without some trick or treating! This week will have given two options to choose from:

Trick:
Your grem just isn't about the trick-or-treating scene and would rather cover people's houses with toilet paper and scaring innocent souls. You will need to draw your grem playing tricks and pranks throughout the streets, causing toil and trouble for the neighbours! Smash jack-o-lanterns, TP houses, Scary others, whatever works in the name of trickery!

Treat:
Your grem will be spending the final day going door to door and collecting candy for themselves! You can draw you grem trick-or-treating and walking with others to different homes, or draw them inspecting their lovely haul of sugar-filled goodies! You could also even draw your grem seeing the aftermath left by trickery grems too!

You have all done well, now this is your last stretch! Thank you all who have participated so far, you've done absolutely marvelous work!

Participating in these events will grant candies

which you can use at the end of the month to purchase Mystery Bags. These bags will have a small chance to contain rare prizes, but will otherwise yield fun or silly items or pets for your grem.

Participating in at least one week's prompt automatically grants entry to the grand prize raffle at the end of the month. Prizes for this raffle will include a cypherus grem (Premade OR Custom), as well as myo slots that are raffled off to new/non owners at the end. (please read the raffle section for more info.)

Candies:

Each week, a new prompt theme will be revealed. During that week, drawing your grem with other grems/humans/characters in line with that week's prompt theme will grant candies. (Max 3 affiliates in the image in total, you can add more but they will not be counted for more candies.)

CANDY REWARDS PER WEEK:

+2 participation candies: Granted automatically for participation of any kind within a single prompt week

+1 candy: Granted for each character included in your entry (must include your own grem, but additional candies will only be granted for characters belonging to others)

You may submit a maximum of

2 prompt entries

per week, with up to a maximum of

4 total characters per entry (Your grem+3 extra characters, making 4 total)

. This will grant a max of 10 candies per week. (6 for first participating entry+ 4 for the secondary entry maximum)

Keep in mind that you're only required to draw one grem per prompt as long as it belongs to you or is an NPC grem! Any additional grems or characters belonging to others are optional for extra candy!

Mystery Goodie Bags:

Small Spooky Goodie Bag: 8 candies
Contains 2 items. Has smaller chance of rare prizes.

(limit 2 per person)

Jack-o-Lantern Grand Bag: 20 candies

Contains 1 special/ Rarer item.

(limit 1 per person)

Disclaimer:

This event is intended to be a fun way to encourage community members to draw their grems as well as grems and characters belonging to others. While rare prizes are possible to snag from mystery bags, we ask that you understand that this is essentially luck-of-the-draw. We've done our best to ensure that bags that do not contain rare prizes will still contain fun or silly things, but we don't want to create a situation where members walk away from this event feeling put out or disappointed. This should be treated like any other prompt or drawing. Winners of rare things will be few, but we hope that you enjoy yourselves regardless of the results. This is supposed to be for fun! So let's have fun : )

Rules:

-Please record all of your entries and the accumulated candies within a journal (or entry description). This recording will be mandatory for the end of the event. Please

do not submit your tracking journal into the group

! We will be making a journal later in the month where everyone will be required to submit their gathered information in one place.

- Be sure to submit your entries into the designated Prompts Folder (described below) within the group, prompts that art submitted anywhere else will be declined

- For anyone joining as free-for-all, please title your deviation with

" OCTOBER WEEK (whatever number the week is) PROMPT"

"(Week 1-4 prompt name) PROMPT

somewhere so we know it is one and for what month specifically, new owners need to put

"NEW OWNER WEEK (1-4) PROMPT (or N/O (Week 1-4 prompt name) prompt)"

so it's apparent that you are one

-It is mandatory that you grem is registered within the masterlist in order for them to count. If you use an unregistered grem then it will not count until they are registered! This won't be an indefinite thing if you add them and theyre not registered, if they're added unregistered for example and the week ends, it wont count until theyre added to the masterlist. Make sure you grems are official !

-For New owners/ Non-owners only, please submit into the Large Event: new owners folder

-Grem owners cannot submit their art in the new owners prompt folder, you are only allowed to join within the Large Event: free-for-all folder

-Your grem must be in the picture, 50% of the grem needs to be shown at least! (up to interpretation)

-YOUR IMAGE MUST HAVE A COLOURED BACKGROUND, the BG doesn't need to be a masterpiece, a simplified BG is fine, just nothing blank or transparent (landscape, room, etc). Your entries will be based on your gallery work, so we will know if a piece is rushed or not.

- All characters need to be colored, shaded, and visible and easy to see. Blobby and blurry images of low detailed characters will not be counted.

Requirements to join:

-We have officially established npcs for people who do not have a grem! If you do not have a grem, please draw either these three grems to join

-Varied forms of artistic media is accepted (digital/traditional art, writing, etc)
-Remember that you cannot join with someone else's grem, it needs to be an NPC if you do not have a grem
-Collaborating on images and writing entries is not allowed
-Please ask others for permission before using their grem for additional candies in your entries

SECRET CYPHERUS DRAW

To enter, you only need to make one piece of art to get a ticket into the draw. By the end of the event, everyone who has entered will be eligible for a secret Draw for a Custom or Premade Cypherus! (Staves are not included in this, sorry!). Again, all you need to do is submit a prompt into the designed folder and you will be entered into the draw!

3 myo slots will be going out once the prompt challenge has ended! All a new owner needs to do is enter once with one image like any normal prompt. They will be randomly picked through a number generator and will be disclosed publicly within a journal. This one will not increase in myo slot amount and stay stationary at 3 slots.

NEW/NON OWNERS Disclaimer:

As a new/non owner, you are given the option to join by using the npcs if you wish to work for what is in the bags, but if you don't wish to aim for the bags, all you need to do is treat this like a prompt and only submit one piece to be entered into the myo slot draw and the cypherus draw at the end. Do note that we wont stop you from participating, but a lot of the prizes that are within these bags are catered to people who already own grems, the chances of a new owner getting an item that is of significant use to them if rather slim, so please keep this in mind if you are wanting to put work into getting these bags.

FAQ:

What does Non- Owner mean? What is the difference between new owner and non owner?

a non-owner is a person who had a grem in the past but no longer owns one, a new owner is one who has never owned a grem before.

What do the bags contain?

The bags contain a variety of different items, varying from clothing and accessories for your grem, to pets, food items, and mounts! In rare cases, we've heard that people have been finding special vouchers from GremCorps. We're not sure what they are though! Seems shady.

Does the larger bag contain more items?

No, the Jack-o-Lantern Grand Bag does not contain a large amount of items, just a higher chance at rare prizes and unique items.

What if I have leftover candies?

You should definitely feed them to your grem! The bag merchants are shady and we don't recommend trying to haggle with them. Best to calculate your prompt entries ahead of time to make sure you break even if you don’t want excess candies at the end!

Do the other characters in my entries have to be grems?

Nope! So long as your entry contains your own grem, the additional characters can be human or any closed species, please be sure to have other affiliated characters doing something related to the week theme to be counted into the image.

What if I don’t have a grem? Can I still participate?
Of course! Non-owners/New-owners may submit entries using the NPC Grems provided . You will need to read the new- owners disclaimer above!

I'm confused about how candy is calculated, can I have some examples?

• If on week 1, you were to draw a single prompt entry that included your grem and a friend's grem, you would earn 4 candies (2 for participation, and 1 for each character included in your prompt)

• On week 2, you submit 2 prompt entries. The first includes your grem and 3 human characters belonging to your friends, the second includes your grem only. This would earn you 7 candies (2 for participation, 1 for each character included in your prompts)

• If this was all you submitted for the entire month, you'd have a grand total of 11 candies. You could buy a Small Spooky Goodie Bag with that! Score!!

Writing Section

For this event we will be allowing people to write for one of their entries per week. Writing will work a bit differently, in that you are defaulted to the max amount of candies for a set amount of work. Please follow the guidelines below for further clarification -

• You may only submit 1 writing entry per week

• If your writing entry is your first submission of the week, you will still receive the +2 bonus candies

• If your writing entry is the second submission of the week, you will receive +4 candies

• Your entry must be 2000 words or more

• Your entry must include your grem and 3 other affiliates minimum

• You must clearly detail the background/atmosphere, the topic of the week and the interaction between your grem and the affiliates in your image

• You need to specify the word count, the grem, and the affiliates in the description of your entry
